We had a lovely stay, the staff were very welcoming and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. We would recommend this hotel. The location was great and within walking distance of many of the sights and good restaurants.

Well located hotel, near all sorts of transport: boats, busses, trams etc., and very near the river and the beautiful praca comercio. Nice hotel, quiet street. Clean though Small room (the standard room), but if you are the whole day outside, you do not need a big room. Great breakfast.

Hotel was well appointed, perfect location and excellent breakfast. Welcome was poor as was check out, we had to move rooms due to sewer smells, but the staff were v helpful in this. Sound insulation between rooms was poor, bring earplugs.

My husband and I had a great stay at this hotel whilst visiting Lisbon. It's ideally situated for sight-seeing ... close to public transport, great restaurants and bars nearby and plenty of shops. The hotel's public areas are quite limited (ie a small reception, bar and restaurant) but the decor is very cool and well thought out. The staff are... More

I just checked out from this hotel. I am horrified. We had stayed in it in April, 2015. The location is good for walking the historic town center. Since we have family in Lisbon, we barely used our rooms. It was more a sleeping arrangement. So, I booked it again this time. My son and daughter were complaining about the... More

Dear Silvia P, Thank you for your preference for our hotel again, although the punctual incident in your last stay. A great hotel close to the metro stations and access to the airport and the main rail station. The rooms are a little tight but the location makes up for it. Short walk to most attractions and several convenience stores close by. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The service was excellent but the rooms were very small- the only contra. The location is very good. One should offer more meals at the restaurant. The staff was very helpful. I would recommend the hotel to my friends.

The hotel itself is nice, relatively well sized rooms (for Europe), good service, clean, in good condition. The location of the hotel is excellent, near the Praca do Comercio and the water. Really nice place to stay, easy access to public transit, restaurants, and great views of the water.

Great location. Room was small but clean and perfectly adequate. Very friendly staff. Did not sign up for breakfast (15 euros), nor did we eat in restaurant. Bar area was perfectly pleasant. Concierge(s) were knowledgeable and friendly. Walked all over Lisboa from this location.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

The Vincci Baixa hotel is the Vincci chain's first hotel in Portugal. In the centre of Lisbon and less than 7 km away from the airport, Vincci Baixa is set in a privileged location in the downtown shopping and financial district, one of the city's liveliest areas. Baixa has a wealth of shops, dozens of open-air bars and is popular with musicians and artists, giving it a bohemian air that is very much in keeping with the rest of the city. Praca do Comercio (200m); Rua Augusta (200m). ... more   less
