This review is long overdue. My friend and I traveled to Lisbon for a girl’s birthday trip last July 2013. As my German friend has traveled all over the world and has stayed in plenty of hostels, this was my first time ever staying in this type of travel environment. We found Lisbon Lounge Hostel via Trip Advisor and while...

I had a really good time staying in this hostel. The dinner offered by the hostel is excellent. The staff is very friendly. To meet more party people I went over to the sister hostel Lisbon Lounge which is just a 5 minutes walk away from this hostel. Both hostels are great places to meet many people from all over...

This is a really good option for an overnight or a couple of nights' stay in Lisbon. It couldn't be more convenient, less than a minute's walk from the metro station of Baixa Chiado, but not too noisy. The hostel is really beautifully decorated and we stayed in two different double rooms (we stayed one night, then travelled up the...

Living Lounge Hostel has great location. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are clean. I stayed at single room. Rooms are designed for different concepts. (i.e. Timeless Room has old clock components on the wall and tells concept of time) They also offer free fado tours at night. Highly recommend.

I will be honest, I rarely stay at hostels. I made an exception this time simply because I liked how this hostel looks on its website. And I was not disappointed. I stayed in a twin room with shared bathroom, and because I travelled alone, I paid the price of two which was 54 euro. Not bad, but not terribly...

Staff where really helpful, friendly and they had really good English as well Hostel was a beautiful old building in really good condition.Very clean, central and safe. Breakfast is included in the price, which helps keep costs down. The hostel is exactly like their website shows in the '360 tour'.Loved the decor of the hostel, each bedroom was designed differently - little bit...

Its clean, comfortable, staff's nice and caring. Everynight there is an dinner with the chef Antonio, he is very sympathetic. One bad thing about the hostel is that it is in the second floor and there isn't an elevator to the reception. The location is awesome, its near everything, I almost didnt use the public transports, only to Belem. I...

great location ,great staff, very friendly and helpful, loved the room but needed ear plugs to cut out noise of people coming and going till very late, mainly due to wooden floors and clanging doors. apart from this its a great place and would stay there again, great value. thanks

This place was recommended to me by a friend who had a great stay. I'm not a huge hostel person, but this place was great!!! It is very well run, clean, and had so many fun activities. The activities I enjoyed while at the Hostel were the Fado Night, a walking tour, and a delicious home cooked Portugese meal by...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
