I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights - the hotel is located close to downtown Lisbon which makes sightseeing easy. Metro station is 100m away and walking distance from some major sites. The staff welcome was warm and the atmosphere in the lobby is pleasant. My room (302) was complete and I particularly liked the strong rainshower. the bed...

The hotel has a very convenient location, close to several stations which make your transit through the city very easy. It is also only walking distance from the main central boroughs. The interior design and decor is original and I have found a good combination of quality and price. The staff and service is impeccable! Highly recommended!

I went to Lisbon, my home city, for a couple of days of work, which was a different way of seeing the place I grew up in. I loved the hotel, it was very clean and in a great location, and I was lucky enough to stay in the 4th floor, which has an amazing view to the Castle. The...

We stayed 4 nights in a small double with a view over the adjacent street. The room was of a more than adequate size even if the en-suite shower room was a little compact. The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent, but the restaurant menu was otherwise limited in variety. The hotel is located just 100 metres from the metro which...

The rooms are pretty small and they did not have the amenities I was looking for, such as a fridge. The light broke twice and the shower was difficult to use; I also didn't know how to open my door at first. Be careful when exiting the metro station-one exit has several escalators and you will not see the hotel...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
