Good location, close to metro. unfortunately the only downfall is you get no key, so your room is always open for anyone. facilities were decent and rooms where too, good place if it is only a night. My bed was comfortable, the main areas were okay, lots of street noise though.

I dont know why it's called amazing anyway, my friends and I stayed in a room with 10 beds and it was not very clean, the staff not very friendly, and also in a not very nice part of Lisbon, I doubt I would stay there again

We booked a private room with shared bath, which was a third floor walk up. Bed was very uncomfortable - we conjectured that we had been given a box spring with no mattress - and street noise continued until 3am when the trash removal trucks came (every night). Bathroom was clean, and kitchen area very nice. Strong wifi. No protein...

Before boom festival this year me and 2 friends checked into lisbon amazing hostel last minute- we were warmly welcomed by the sweet staff and the other people staying in the hostel were all so friendly and lovely. We automatically felt at home and that evening we cooked at the hostel- instead of going out for dinner- then ended up...

I've staid at this place every summer now for 3 years, and it might be me getting older and more picky, but the hostel as such feels like being in deterioration. I still enjoy the rugged alley that leads to the hostel and the mixed crowd that stays there, but the halfhearted (at best) cleanliness of the rooms, broken lamps,...

I stayed 6 nights with 4 other people in a 5 bed room, with en-suite on the ground floor, which was a nice upgrade from the shared dorm we booked. The room had 2 bunks and 3 single beds and was fairly clean when we arrived, but wasn't cleaned in the time we were there but that was fine. It...

Stayed 3 nights in a private room. The rooms are basic, but spacious. The only not really satisfying part was the mattresses, which where hard to lie on. But, its a hostel, and the price is adequate. Breakfast is very basic (jam, butter, rolls, tea, instant coffee) but - it's a hostel, and the price is adequate. The location is...

Stayed at this hostel in the back alleys of Alfama, Lisbon. I had a private room/bathroom. Great location, clean building, very helpful staff. Room was very basic, however that's what is to be expected at a hostel. Breakfast was very basic (just toast, jam, coffee, juice, cereal) but, again, it's a hostel.

we was in Lisbon in march and we booked a double room. The hostel is cheap, clean and it's located in a really tipical street, close to Praca do Comercio, St. George's castel. The staff is very polite. Breakfast included but not so rich (just cereal, bread and jam). Be careful when you will come back drunk in the night...

We were indeed very well received! The staff is very friendly and helpfull. We stayed in a 4 room very spacious, clean and with bathroom. The hostel is very typical of Alfama area with tiles of bygone eras and with a very original decoration. Breakfast is good and the location of the hostel is excellent - close to everything we...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
