This hotel reminded us of our favorite hotel in Manhattan. The staff was superior and gave us great advice on transportation, restaurants and things to do. The breakfast was delicious and the room service was great. The third floor library was like our own private study with snacks, an honor bar and a telescope to enhance the view of the...

We booked this hotel after reading reviews which looked good. We arrived on foot from the Underground terminus and it was a 10 minute walk (although we discovered we could have got a bus which stops a few yards from the hotel. The receptionist was very attentive and showed us a map of the city, where we where in relation...

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your kind words. We work passionately each day to ensure the best possible service to our Guests. Even outside the time of their stay, they continue to be our Guests and all our services are at their disposition. We just would like to add that our location is in a very old quarter...

My wife and I had only two nights at this very thoughtfully managed oasis. We wished it could have been longer. All the right small touches. Comfy bed and room. Welcoming, cozy public spaces, especially the wonderful library and terrace on the top floor. Best breakfast we had in our two Iberian weeks. Parking is sparse, but we found a...

We were here in August for our first visit to Portugal. The hotel is an old stately home that was converted into a hotel. Rooms are large, there's a gorgeous library with a terrace facing the ocean. Great breakfast is included. Staff are wonderful. Very good restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend it.

I found the hotel to be like Lisbon itself, understated, not showy, warm and friendly. It also makes it a very tricky review to write if one's tastes are at the opposite end of the spectrum. You pays your money, and all that. In terms of location, it's hard to say how far from the centre of Lisbon it is,...

My colleague and I checked into AV Janelas Verdes during a short stay in Lisbon. It's a short distance from the central areas - we walked it in about 15-20 minutes. The hotel is utterly charming and the staff most helpful. The rooftop terrace and library are gorgeous and ideal places to relax. We also liked the views out towards...

Great hotel, excellent value, fantastic staff, immaculate rooms, wonderful food and 'make you feel at home service'. Well located while in a quiet spot with bus stop just outside the door. Don't opt for Yellow Bus Tour service. Not worth the cost and not very good service compared to others. The staff is very helpful and will help you get...

This Hotel was a real gem. It is nothing to look at from outside but the inside was a different story. It is exquisite with wonderful decorations and art. The Library has to be seen to be believed. Beautifully furnished and a lovely view out over the harbor. The staff were so helpful. Nothing was a problem. The breakfast was...

We were so thrilled with this hotel - just the most perfect place for us. It felt like a private home with the beautiful furnishings right down to the monogrammed towels. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the area was great & convenient & we noticed (on the day we left) that there were many shops & restaurants...

A hotel with real character that provides a high level of service for its guests. Comfortable, fresh ( and very clean) rooms. Good quality breakfast. I would agree with the reviews that advise that you avoid first floor rooms at the front ( Rooms 13 and 14 in particular). Not that there is anything wrong with the quality of the...
