This hotel is in a great location - easy for the metro and walking distance to most places - and as you would expect from an Ibis has great beds, good sized rooms and a decent continental breakfast. Staff are great and I was able to check in at 11am when I arrived. However, there are major renovation works taking place and the noise is unbearable if you want to spend any time in your room during the day for a rest. The entrance is closed and a side entrance is being used and only one small capacity lift is working for the 7 floors - the stairs are also closed. I would not have stayed if I had known about this and feel that Ibis should have sent an email warning us that this work was ongoing over these dates so we could make a considered choice. If the work is completed I would recommend but not until it is ...... I am sorry to post a bad review but really believe there should have been some warning of this work upon booking. …
Fun and cute internal, with good staff. The room was good, clean and had enough to spend just a few days in Lisbon. Breakfast could have more options of fruit and being open a little later for those who wants to sleep longer after walking a lot in Alfama.
Having booked 5 rooms for a 2 night stay I was very disappointed we weren't told in advance that the hotel was undergoing a remodelling phase. First impression was poor as the hotel is accessed by scaffold steps up to the reception. Also the Bar on the high floor is closed for work. I would not have chosen this property had we been made aware in advance. On our second day I mentioned this to a member of staff and asked if we should have been told about the work in advance - his reply was 'what do you think'. Such a shame that the management make the lives of staff more difficult by not sharing information proactively in advance. In addition in our room the towel rail was coming away from the wall, as was the light fitting by the bed so the room we had (104) needs some TLC.
We stayed 2 nights and arrived late after a delayed flight. Very impressed with Moreira who came down the stairs to get our luggage. Gillmary checked us in - professional, efficient and told us where we could visit. We were on a room on the first floor which was useful as we used the stairs. The lift is tiny and busy. The room was a good size and nicely appointed. The bathroom unfortunately had a bit of a pong from the bathroom drain. We kept the windows open which sorted it out. (On the tripadvisor description it mentions a sun deck and rooftop bar this is incorrect ) A great little restaurant down the road and 2 supermarkets very close by. Plenty to eat at the cold breakfast buffet. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Moreira and Gillmary also worked the bar. Great conversationalists and good bar service and prices. Taxi to port 8 euro, taxi from airport 11 euro…
Typical Ibis, sparce room, good bed, good shower and good breakfast. Parking is in a nearby garage for 11 Euro a day. Staff was not as helpful as many other IBIS's we have stayed at. Location in the center of town is what makes this place worth staying at.
"The higher up you are th better as the restaurant is in the 9th floor, there are two lifts by which access can be gained"Read full review
