This place is amazing! The location couldn't be better. Close to everything. We were able to walk to most places. The Justa Elevator is around the corner. Rossio square is about a half a block away. Rua Augusta, the main pedestrian street is just the next street over. The Chiada district is only a short walk. We were in a...

We stayed for five nights last week and would thoroughly recommend it. Ideal location – a short walk from Baixa-Chiado Metro and the main sights. We had room 48 which was on the fourth floor and it was ideal, great views of the street and not too noisy. Even with the bar on the ground floor, it wasn't disruptive. We...

Dear heatherbellescotland, Thank you for sharing your review! You really had some bad luck regarding the weather... But at least the rest made up for that :) We're glad that the works didn't disturb you. We did everything we could for that to be the less annoying possible. We had booked a two bedroom for one couple and one relative. I have to admit, we were a bum it apprehensive about the online photos with the Wild colors. Just had four great nights at these apartments. Our studio room 48, far exceeded our expectations. It was clean and bright with three veranda windows which were great to watch the world go by and to watch the very talented street musicians. Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
