This hotel is very centrally located in Lisbon, right in the middle of the shops, restaurants and many attractions. The staff were very helpful, offering assistance to organise a wakeup call and taxi to the airport, as well as suggesting and booking a restaurant for us - as we were short on time (we only had the evening in Lisbon)... A very chic centrally located space. A very helpful and friendly staff. Room was small but well designed. Our flight was delayed and after a day of traveling we were warmly received and given an amazing bottle of local wine to toast our 1st night Lisbon. Would definitely stay here again or one of the sister properties.

Situated a few hundred meters from the metro station, in a very quiet street with shops and restaurants around the corner and every sight in the central area within walking distance, the location couldn't have been better. The staff is helpful and friendly. The room we had was almost perfect except for a little dim lighting and it took some... More

The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The rooms were quite nice. The location was great in the heart of everything - very walkable -only took the tram once and only to see the sights of Lisbon via the famous 28 Tram. The wifi however was terrible! Could not get connected. When we mentioned it to the desk staff, they... More

From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were treated like long lost special friends! The staff was fantastic, friendly and so very helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had lots of little extras that made staying there so very pleasant. The breakfast were lovely and had a large selection of breakfast treats. The location was... More

The hotel is conveniently located close to public transport, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Clean room sporting all modern media equipment including iMac in my case. To be picky, the decor in the room is overdone. Less could be more in this case. More importantly, aa good bed and shower are provided for. What else does one need? Besides hot... More

Travelling solo to Lisbon I searched for accomodation in a safe & central location prior to visiting and certainly found the right place! Browns Downtown boutique was such a lucky find. As soon as I arrived I was made to feel welcome and throughout my stay the hotel reception staff were more than helpful when I asked for guidance on... More

I stayed at Brown's twice in August on two separate trips, I have to say it's one of my favourite hotels anywhere. Fist off I love the decor of the place, the lobby is super chill with lot's of room and great black and white photos on the walls. Both of my rooms where super clean with a great vibe.... More

We spent three nights here and it was a great location from which to explore Lisbon. Quiet street at night and the room was a design pearl. Great bed, a little kitchen and tablet and a stereo. The shower was far too small for such a classy place and air conditioning was so loud we had to turn it off... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
