Land in Lisbon and take a taxi to your hotel (many web-sites recommend taking the d Aerobus but we believe this would take too long ). The line up at the airport for the taxis will be long but it moves quickly. Make sure you have the Portugese name and address of your hotel as it is just easy to...

My wife won this wonderful trip with Smooth Radio. We were told by the organizers just how good this hotel was from their personal experience and boy were they right. Arriving at Lisbon airport we were met by a chauffeur with a top of the range Mercedes and whisked off into Lisbon. Literally 30 minutes after touching down we arrived...

I stayed at this very well appointed modern clean functioning hotel whilst attending a conference in Lisbon. The staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful, spoke really good English( my Portugeuse is lousy) and were very knowledgeable about the local area and Lisbon in general. Put this on your list of hotels to use if you are ever in Lisbon. The additions...

This hotel is well located and has a very modern and fresh feel to it. The reception check-in process was painless and polite which is always a nice purprise. The breakfast buffet was not over the top by suffucuent for a good start to the day. Good in-room products and overall an actual 4-star hotel experience

Had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel 15 mins outside of Lisbon however, transport to and from Lisbon is simple and cheap. The staff are def the nicest I have met in my recent years of travel. You are made very welcome when you arrive and the lovely guy who checked us in (early on the 21st Aug))...

We were in LIsbon two times for this vacation, starting there and then ending there after a side trip to the Algarve. We decided to book two different hotels in two different areas and Jeronimo 8 was the second place we stayed. After being in central Lisbon for the first part of our journey we were concerned about moving out...

I stayed there with our team during the Volvo Ocean Race for about 14 days. The hotel was very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. They all spoke English. The rooms were rather small especially for a couple with a lot of luggage (a typical city hotel). The breakfast buffet was great and the service staff very friendly...

Travelled here for a three night stay for the Half-Marathon, chose this hotel initially as it was close to the finish line and it looked smart! The hotel exceeded our expectations and more, great room, bathroom, lovely food - would definately go back.

I stayed at this hotel for a week in July 2012, on my own. I can fully recommend it. My room was comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. The breakfast buffet provided was appetising and serving staff very helpful. The one meal I ate at the hotel, on a Sunday when local restaurants were closed, was acceptable, indeed rather better than one...

I booked this hotel primarily for it's location to the the Optimus Alive music festival at the beginning. However, having researched a bit about Lisbon it is the perfect location for exploring the whole city and not just the centre. We have been able to get to the beach on the train within 30 mins, the centre of town by...

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
