I booked this hotel for its location near the Rossio train and metro stations, and it was definitely convenient from that standpoint. This place is pretty basic; the rooms are small, with furnishings that make you feel like you're in a dated dorm room. There's...More
We stayed for two nights. The breakfast was incredibly good - fresh Tortillas, cheese, ham, bread, a toaster (which we used A LOT),really good coffee, drinks, Joghurt and cereal (we especially liked the local brand Starz).
And another huge point that is not to be...More
It was just 2 night visit and I was probably not checking what I was booking, so just want to raise that there are SHARED BATHROOMS and NO LIFT, which was my fault I did not somehow remember it. Overall pleasant reception and very clean...More
Wonderful location on one of the busiest squares and right next to the Rossio metro, station making it incredible easy to get around. We caught the metro from the airport - easy. The famous 28 tram stops just across the square. A train station is nearby...More
Excellent Location. Parking was expensive. No Elevators - Had to drag the luggage 3 floors up. Small rooms. Breakfast was great. Staff was helpful and courteous. Can get the famous Tram 28 , 12 and 15 at walking distance from the Hotel.

A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the
imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
It's not the hotel charging this . Everyone pays it in all hotels. I paid it last year at the considerably more expensive HF fenix music.
A euro a day ??? .... surely no big issue at this v v cheap price?
