It is in a really good location, near Marquês de Pombal, with metro and bus stations near. This hostel is OK, the rooms are clean, but the bathrooms are a bit small. The breakfast is delicious. It's a great option if you want a cheap and clean hostel.

Thin walls, dirty sheets, ugly rooms. Bathroom amenities were all in inox steel, which felt kind of "jaily". Wifi did not reach the rooms. Breakfast was terrible, like a school cafeteria. Location was good, not too far from the center and right on top of a metro station. I guess that you get what you pay for, and for 40€/night...

After excruciating experience at Joao XXI hostel we found this haven and for 13 euros or so (breakfast included) it was a good spot for one night sleep. 4 bed dorm was quite simple equipped but clean, with fine bathroom and sufficient for our needs (just sleep). Breakfast was good and stuff helpful. So if you are not demanding or...

This was my first HI youth hostel, and was quite disappointed with it. First of all, the price was not cheap at all compared to other hostels, 17€/night when paying directly, even though I had the HI card. Moreover, the hostel is located next to a big avenue busy with car traffic and with no charm at all, and inside...

Supposedly, according to their website, the taxi should cost no more than 12 Euros. Since the taxi had a meter, we didn't ask how much. Bad choice again, as we were charged 23 Euros, and dropped off across a busy intersection from our hostel. Although this hostel was nice enough and clean enough, most of the staff didn't speak good...

Stayed at Pousada De Juventude 4 nights. Excellent breakfasts, dinners too. Not too expensive and a clean hostel with exceptionally friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi too, Close to the Avenue de Liberation and tourist bus station.

Basic rooms and stainless steel sanitary-ware made it feel institutionalised. Fair location next to a metro station. First night very good and a first class breakfast. Second night a disaster as we were invaded by 50 teenagers on a school outing. Initially inconvenient as they were running everywhere, but we were forced to complain several times as they ran riot...

The receptionist staff was very kind when we asked for the metro and the city map... but they forgot to inform us that that day the metro was closed and the available buses were just a few due to a strike... we got to the city center and to Belém with our car :-) The room was large enough, but...
