I,n many ways a traditional European downtown hotel - in the flat bit of Lisbon -hurrah! - and ideally situated for sightseeing - no need to use the Metro. But there is some street noise, and don't look for roof terrace, spa, underground parking, etc etc. Updated decor, vaguely Nordic (and an IKEA rug in the lift lobby) featuring wooden floors...

The hotel is in the center of the city which is brilliant. The staff was very helpful when we asked them for information, prints etc...The room was nice & quiet, a bit humid but clean enough. There is free wifi. Breakfast was good, English& Continental.

We pre-booked 3 nights at a nonrefundable rate. When we arrived at the no frills, but tidy lobby, the staff was courteous and gave us keys... to a twin room. My fiance had specified a double in the reservation. Not only did the front desk staff not acknowledge their oversight, but at first they neglected to offer a reasonable solution,...

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. But the hotel is looking "tired": the corridors and rooms need renovating and updating. A practical place to stay for our one night stay, but not somewhere we would have wanted to spend longer.

No words to describe this hotel!...Really, I don' have particular needs and I'm not very demanding...but you can't consider the Lisboa Tejo an hotel !! The location is great, really! It's right in the center! The problems come when you enter into the hotel...the lobby is nothing special, but all in all it's ok...just 5 minutes for the check-in and...

Very helpful staff, excellent location. Rooms were nice and were clean and tidy. Pillows were a bit hard, but aside from that, it was a great stay.

My friend and I stayed at the Evidencia Lisboa Tejo Hotel for 5 nights. I could not have chosen a better hotel in terms of location! It is literally walking distance from everywhere you want to go to.The rooms are clean and basic - no bells and whistles, but with breakfast included, it was well priced. Breakfast is the same...

In hilly Lisbon, location is the most important factor when choosing a hotel. Hotel Lisboa Tejo is in a perfect place, a starting point for all the sightseeing gems in the city. Next door is the famous 28 tram, which makes a wonderful loop though the narrow strrets of Lisbon, and number 15, which will take you to Belem. The...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
