My and my girlfriend spent 3 days in Lisbon for her birthday and we stayed at Monte Belvedere. Our room was nice and cozy, but the most outstanding characteristic of this place was represented by kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Raquel, Maria and Rita have been so nice to us. They organized a birthday breakfast surprise for my girlfriend...

A charming hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms were very pleasant and attractive and the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast was superb, with delicious freshly squeezed orange juice and a lovely selection of great food, including divine freshly made mini doughnuts and crepes. What really set this hotel apart were the fabulous staff: they were friendly, welcoming and helpful,...

Excellent view, breakfast and service. To prevent desorientation: Follow at metro station Baixa Chiado the exit signs with the name Largo Chiado / Praca Luis de Camoes/ Rua de Misericordia (not Rua do Crucifixo). After a lot of escalators and 2 stairways you reach the open air. Walk along two statues to the correct direction. Remember you should rise to...

Fantastic service from the staff who did whatever they could to make you feel comfortable and accommodate you. We had a delicious "tapas" lunch at the restaurant madame Petisca (though a bit...

I usually choose 3-4 star hotels and had booked this 2-star hotel unwittingly, but as soon as we arrived, the night manager Raquel greeted us personally and made us feel extremely welcome. The room and all facilities are very clean and well kept and all the furnishings are modern. The bathroom is a bit basic and the shower was designed...

My brother and I stayed at the Monte Belvedere for 3 nights. From the moment our taxi pulled up to the hotel, we were treated like royalty. Raquel (one of the managers) welcomed us with a huge smile, and sat us down with a detailed map of Lisbon, explaining the various neighborhoods and making excellent recommendations for where to eat,...

From the very start it was obvious that this hotel has received great reviews for very good reason. All communication prior to our stay was really helpful and the booking process simple. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Some say it has the best view of Lisbon! From our panoramic restaurant where breakfast is served every morning for our guests, you will not be indifferent to the Cristo Rei embracing Lisbon, the river Tagus [Tejo], the 25th of April Bridge with lights showing where the Atlantic Ocean begins and also the Basilica da Estrela that stands out between the rooftops of Lapa… However, the main feature of Monte Belvedere by Shiadu is not simply its amazing view! Its 13 rooms, some of which with a magnificent view of the river Tagus , have all the comfort you need for an unforgettable stay and our dedicated staff will welcome you, making you feel as if you were at home. Every day you will enjoy our delicious home-made breakfast prepared just for you! Near Monte Belvedere by Shiadu you will find the Northwind Statue [Estatua do Adamastor] (fictional character created by Luis de Camoes, in his master works The Lusiadas). The higher part of Santa Catarina is one of the most beautiful places of Lisbon and only two steps away from the city buzz. With views over the river Tagus it is said that since the 17th Century this plateau, once known as Monte do Pico or Monte Belvedere, is famous because of its lookout point. According to legend throughout the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, from here one could see the moving ships: this is why still today there is a proverbial saying that is: “Ver navios no Alto de Santa Catarina” [“Watching the ships from the top of Santa Catarina”). Follow your instinct and we will be waiting…. ... more   less
