A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying for a few days late February to March 3rd 2020. We loved everything about this small wonderful hotel. Not only is the location simply the best but the staff could not have been more helpful. We had a lovely view of the courtyard which was quiet and it was so easy to explore fascinating Lisbon. We enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners at Delfina. We prefer staying in smaller hotels and Inns and Alma Lusa was exceptional. We are thankful for such beautiful memories of Lisbon and Alma Lusa

Stayed for a couple of nights as we stopped over in Lisbon on our way to South America. Location: Very central - tucked away in the corner of Praca do Municipio. Easy walking distance around old town. 10min to Time out market. Number 28 tram stops near by. Rooms: Nicely decorated and loved the tolietories! Our room had a nice view of the square. Service: front desk staffs were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. All spoke excellent english (which was good as our Portuguese is rubbish!)

This was my second visit to the AlmaLusa, I had stayed here with my husband last Summer and loved it. This time it was a 'girls' weekend and my daughter and friend were very impressed. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the square. The location is perfect, the food excellent and the staff are absolutely lovely, particularly the restaurant/bar staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble. I can't wait for my next visit.

We booked this hotel based on Trip Advisor ratings and comments and were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly time we came or went, and there were little “gifts” such as free sangria and a discount at the restaurant, flourless chocolate cake and wine one evening, a little teddy bear with an AlmaLusa shirt on, and ball pint pens. The room was large and included a small kitchenette, with both a refrigerator and a dishwasher. The location was perfect, easy walking distance to attractions and you could avoid the steeper hills. Also very quiet and dark for sleeping. Really, we could not have made a better choice. If you are coming to Lisbon, check out AlmaLusa.

Stylish, trendy, welcoming, comfortable, quiet, and just overall perfect boutique hotel! We stayed here last weekend from finishing a week of traveling in Morocco and on our way to France for a week. The location was perfect as we had a short time to explore Lisbon. The hotel is tucked away in a very quiet part but yet so close to so many restaurants, shops and attractions. We truly enjoyed our stay and appreciate everyone at the hotel who was helpful and very welcoming. Hope to come back again and see more of Portugal in the future. (As an interior designer I really enjoyed seeing so many smart space solutions done beautifully in our room)

How is the breakfast? Do they have room service?
Hi Wanda! We have a breakfast buffet, with a variety of portuguese food, including drinks (tea, juice, coffee, decaf, milk), iogurt, pasteries (cake, bread, croissants), cereals, ham and cheese, fruit salad, eggs/bacon and rice upon request. We prefer quality rather than quantity, that's why most of the products served are homemade and we make sure that all of them are of top portuguese quality. We also have room service. We hope to welcome you! See you soon, Cátia
