The Pousada Vila Óbidos – the first Pousadas de Portugal Bed & Breakfast – and Casa Lidador, a pioneering Portuguese travel experience, provide an innovative way to experience life within the walled town of Óbidos. The Pousada Vila Óbidos, 200 metres from the Castle, is an authentic traditional Óbidos house from the 18th century, with 17 comfortable rooms and a courtyard. Casa Lidador, also 200 metres from the Castle, is a restoration of the first Pousada built in the 1940s, providing 11 rooms, a shared kitchen and an outdoor swimming pool. Virtually equidistant from each other, the three buildings (the Castle, Vila Óbidos and Casa Lidador) of Pousadas de Portugal in Óbidos all share a Reception and Restaurants within the Castle. They are all excellent starting points to explore the charming town, with its medieval streets and white facades decorated with flowers, or to try the iconic Ginjinha de Óbidos (morello cherry liqueur) and the various cultural and adventure activities available in the region. TIP: We recommend the use of a small suitcase, because Casa Lidador can only be accessed on foot.

This Pousada has been here for a short time. Everything is really new. The silence at night is amazing. The bedroom very comfortable. The breakfast amazing with fresh natas. I would strongly recomend for those who need to relax.

Villa Obidos looks nice, but the service inside ist very poor. The rates are clearly to high for what is suggested. You probably better stay in the main house, even if I didn't see the rooms there. The city is very worth to see and visit, but please do not go there in the main season.

Excellent and charming place. Exotic stay inside de walls of the castle. You will really feel what it is like to be within the castle walls with all the convenience of a very pleasant inn. Being able to walk the streets and alleys at night is a privilege of this stay.

The Posada Vila Obidos is extremely difficult to find. It has a limited number of parking spaces. There are steps up from the street to the entrance without a ramp for suitcases [or wheelchair access]. There is no elevator in the Pousada and although we had assistance to take the suitcases up the steps, we had to take them down upon departure. There is no one at the desk during the early morning, evening and night. Our room resembled a monastic cell which you would not expect at €210 per night. There was no counter space by the bathroom sink. In the bedroom, there were two mini nightstands and a very small table underneath a mirror. The minibar was tiny and empty. Although it was summer, the beds were covered with thick duvets. The shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor and the temperature fluctuated to the extent that it was dangerous. We had to shower with one hand on the control handle to minimize the discomfort. The breakfast was a poor and limited selection. The hot food was cold and in a country where oranges are in abundance, the orange juice was canned. This accommodation was not typical of the other Pousadas of the Pestana chain but was easily the worst. …

They say it is available . I took a cab. Very narrow streets with smooth cobblestones makes driving difficult.
