Stayed here one night in Room 126. Was 65E/night on Booking.com. Now for the good: The location! Just outside the town walls, very nice! The towels and linens were of unexpected good quality. Parking is directly in front of the hotel. WIFI was included and very good. Breakfast was meager but good. Great coffee, fresh breads and some amazing OJ. Now for the "be forewarned" part...... The bed was lumpy and pillows cheap and small. The room and bed was very small, even by European standards. All cheap and wobbly bathroom fixtures. Uncomfortably small plastic shower with no place for soap or shampoo. Very basic. All the bathroom amenities were low grade, would advise to bring your own. The room had a broken toilet seat.......but the "BEST" (sarcastically) part is that the toilet paper dispenser is one of those that only provides ONE two-ply square of toilet paper at a time. I kid you not. We reserved a "double or twin" room that was non-smoking and included breakfast and WIFI and parking. Not sure if they have any better rooms than this. The front desk was often abandoned and we had difficulty in finding a person there. We came upon several clerks and they all were to varying degrees unpleasant to interact with as well. In our room we had a large curtain and small window at the far end of the room. As we pulled the curtain back it only revealed a long boring wall. No view, just a chuckle from us. A beautiful canvas or framed photo of this over the top scenic town would have added some nice character to this room and certainly would have been less expensive than this huge curtain?!? Just a thought. The outside of the hotel gives a totally different impression than did our room itself. It was done very nicely and is quite appealing. Hope our review was helpful. If we were to return to Obidos we may stay here again, but if budget isn't a concern then we'd try to stay in the Pousada up at the top of the town.…
This stunning Hotel is positioned a few meters from the entrance to the stunning village of Obidos. Anybody doing a road trip through Portugal must try and include Obidos. The Hotel rooms are spacious, very clean and also serves a wonderful breakfast. The 25 meters walk to the entrance to the Castle Village is very convenient. Can highly recommend this Hotel if ever visiting Obidos.
Ideally situated for a visit to Obidos, right next to the Castle walls so a short walk to get in for visiting and restaurants. Private parking, compact spots and only a few spaces but as parking is difficult in that area, very welcome. The staff very efficient, room was a good size with very modern bathroom all nice and clean. Good choice for breakfast including hot food. We did not see any notices to say but sadly the bar is one for smokers so we were not happy with that part of the hotel.
Amazed that the bar was full of smokers. Bit of a musty smell around hotel. Great location. Bed comfortable. Small bath in room. Mini bar was missing not sure where it had gone! Woke up to the smell of cigarette smoke in my room from somewhere! All in all a shame because it hotel in great position but lacks any class.
We spent one night at the Josefa D’Obidos hotel. It’s well located just outside the city walls. Staff was very nice. Room was a bit dated, but clean and air con worked well. Breakfast simple and mostly pre-packaged.
"I had a suite which was lovely and very quiet. My son had a normal room that was more than big enough"Read full review
