We had the Lord Byron Suite, which was romantic and quiet, with a small terrace and a beautiful view. Like the rest of the hotel, it was old-fashioned--which is just what we wanted. If you want something trendy, stay elsewhere! Perfect for real Romantics...

What a lovely place to stay, great location within easy walking distance of everything. Woke up every morning with the birds singing and the sound of the waterfall. Lovely view from the balcony. The rooms were large and comfortable.

we stayed 2 nights in April. The hotel is superb. location is great, 3 mins from the town center, on bus route for tours. Our room had a breathtaking view, good room, great bathroom and the hotel is so historic. Ate in the restaurant for dinner. really outstanding food and great service from friendly staff. Historically, this hotel was interesting with a fantastic location. We parked the car for 3 days and didn't use it at all while touring the sites. The staff was friendly. Our room was on the 2nd floor street-side and we heard 24hrs of cars, busses, construction vehicles, tour groups and drunk people walking home. I can sleep through anything but...

The stay in this hotel was like traveling back in time... The XIX century looks, the food, everything is wonderful. Sintra is indeed a magical place, and this hotel (one of the oldest in the Iberian Peninsula) makes a perfect add on in this set. Highly recommend :)

I have long had this little hotel on my bucket list. But I am sorry to say that since my last visit to Sintra 10 years ago it has come under new ownership. And not for the better... I really wanted to give this hotel a higher rating but there were just too many things wrong. There is still a...

There are not a lot of options in Sintra i believe this was the best option in the village. The boutique hotel gets better ratings, I don't see it. Lawrences hotel is a striking old home just a block or two from the main square it is very quiet the staff was friendly and the rooms were really really beautiful...

The city of Sintra is kind of a crazy place with lots of tourists. But the Lawrence's Hotel is just enough out of the way to be a quiet respite. The Olissapona room was charming - windows opened to a quiet forest on the backside of the hotel. High ceilings, big room and lots of closet space. Big bathroom also...

This is the oldest hotel in the Iberian Peninsula and was a charming place choosen by writers in the 19th century, as Lord Byron and Portuguese romantic authors. Although the place keeps its charming atmosphere, it is not a five star hotel per 21th century standards. The room is small, the bed not very confortable and there is no silence...

We went there for lunch, with a reservation for a group of 7 friends, as they were part of Restaurant Week. When we arrived they told us that the hotel's policy was for a maximum of 4 people per table. The restaurant was almost empty, there were several free tables of 8 , there was even a small separate room...
