We just had the most wonderful stay at Vitorina Corte Guesthouse. We were a big family of 12 persons, grandparents, grown children and grandchildren vacationing together for a week. Since our initial email contact with Joanna, till the very last wave goodbye from Victor and senhor Agosthino we've felt exceptionally well cared for. Joanna was so kind and helpful when...

a beautiful, charming guesthouse, in the Old Town, with original Madeiran furniture. Very friendly and helpful hosts, always ready to offer advice on where to walk and visit. Lovely breakfasts - we would love to return!

When I booked this place online I was hoping for something traditional, but when we crossed the door step and I smelled its age and atmosphere - I fell in love - deeply. Every step up, and my admiration for only growing :). Loved our room on first floor - I was simply entranced by turquoise blue curtains flowing with...

This was a perfect place to stay in Funchal. Walkable to just about everything, restaurants close by, in the center of old town and tremendous views. It is a beautiful old family home and the staff (Marco especially) is very helpful with suggestions of hikes and things to do. The only complaint I would have is that the bathroom needed...

We loved this place but want to write an honest review so there will be some negatives! Firstly the positives; the people who run this guesthouse are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. It is spotlessly clean, the breakfasts are lovely and we enjoyed chatting to the other guests at the breakfast table and picking...

There are two sides to every story, so please read to the end... If you are looking for a modern hotel with matching amenities, this is not for you. Not all rooms have en suite and mine not even a wardrobe. The room furniture is from a car boot sale. There is no bar and, despite claims and pictures on...

The location is marvellous - in the heart of the old town but far enough away from the local restaurants to be peaceful at night. The old house is full of wonderful rooms and period furniture. Service was excellent and Marco was very helpful. If you are looking for somewhere to stay with atmosphere ans soul - this is the...

Staying in this quaint old house on the east of Funchal, it may not be an hotel but it's position ,friendly owner and staff, have made this first trip to Madeira memorable, and I will be back asap ! It is just out of the 'old town' but feels like a different town ! Further up the hill is a...

Spent one week at this charming guesthouse .Its position in the old quarter perfect and if situated at the front you even will witness Cruise ships sail by your window. The guesthouse is full of Madierian furniture and charm quite unique to your normal style hotel but so individual .It is very clean and kept in very good order' The...

I would have given a higher rating here if it wasn't for the unfortunate circumstances of our stay. First off, the good parts: 1) The owner was incredibly friendly, even giving us a free lift in his car about 2 km to the airport bus stop as we had 5 bags. Thank you publicly for that Agostino.:-) 2) Breakfast food...
