We enjoyed a nice holiday at the Pestana Miramar and would certainly return to this resort in the future. Our accommodation was lovely with views out to the harbour and the sea and also over the pool, trees and flowers. The resort was operated and maintained by very dedicated, professional staff who were always friendly, helpful and had a smile. The rooms, the pools and the garden areas were clean, tidy and superbly kept. The food and drink in the A Vila buffet restaurant was particularly enjoyable - a good selection at both breakfast and dinner and plenty of it! The resort was located in a good position, not far from the centre of Funchal or from the harbour. We would definitely recommend this resort to others looking to visit Madeira.
Even though we had to cut our holiday short due to coronavirus we had a lovely stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and cheerful considering the circumstances. We had a b and b deal and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied. Will be going back when all this has died down!!
Superb location just opposite Reids with a lot more character than many of the newer ones. Staff bought us a bottle of bubbly and a birthday cake even we had not told them that it was his birthday. Really good buffet breakfast and very efficient and friendly waiting staff.
We spent a lovely week family holiday in the resort in February. The apartment was ideal space wise and the staff supplied a cot and a small childs bed so we didn't have to use the bed setee in the lounge meaning we could put the children/grandchildren to bed and relax in the lounge. Although, on the fourth floor the slope the resort is built on meant that the balcony was actually at ground level so no worries about the four year old. The grounds are lovely and the two outdoor pools also very nice but too cold for us in February! The indoor pool is quite small so in busy periods it might get a bit crowded. There are restaurants in the resort but they aren't open all the time so you need to check. We dined once in the Adega which was very nice and the waiting staff great if the new wine waiter a bit over enthusiastic on topping up. Poor chap was quite nervous! It is a peaceful resort at least in off peak times and you don't notice the traffic on the busy street below. People with mobility issues may find the walk up from the street a bit hard but there is a lift at street level accessed down a passageway to the right of the road entrance past the small jewellers shop. Luigis italian restaurant is just along the street to the left and Petit Fours cafe to the right. Cheap and delightful pastries plus light lunches. It is close to the centre of Funchal than the Pestanas by the Lido and almost opposite Reids Hotel. The airport bus stops close the entrance. E8 adult return ticket.…
We stayed in one of the apartments and it was excelente. Staff are very polite and the housekeeping service is good however I would recommend less room service as no need for servicing every day. The indoor pool is small but great. The apartment has a small kitchen which is handy to do quick cooking. If you are hiring a car unfortunately the parking is chargeable €6 a day which is the only downside but understandable due to the small car park, we left the car at night time in the blue lines parking at used the paying machine that counts for the next day so no need to wake up early to remove the car 2 hours for 1,50€. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
