Rarely do you come across a hotel that ticks all boxes - and is cheap! This was one of the better quality 3 star hotels. I believe it had been a Quality Inn hotel in the past. The rooms were spacious and clean. Nice shower. Good breakfast choice. But, the best thing about it was the location. It was a very short distance from tram 22 stop. The Hop on hop off buses set off about 100 yards from the hotel. The main shopping street Rua Santa Catarina is a stone throw away from the hotel. There are many cafes and restaurants very close by. Sau Bento railway station is 10 minutes on foot. What more can you want? My only negative was that our room safes did not work. They promised to send someone, but didnt. Anyway, this is offset by the complimentary delicious fruit infused water and port wine on offer in Reception…
Staff were friendly, room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was excellent. Great location right in the old city close to bus stops and railroad station. The best shopping and good restaurants are within easy walking distance
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. We’re a family: 2 adults and 1 kid. The hotel is really close to all amenities; train station, main shopping street and to the porto. Room bright, clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely everyday with a choice btw continental or hot stuff products. Staff at the reception cordial. I’ll recommend it very much.
Desk clerks were very helpful and friendly! Centrally located and walking distance to nearly all wonderful sites. Room was ok and clean. Breakfast had a wide selection of food and good!!! Nice little bar!
We really cannot fault this hotel. It is ideally situated, close to Via Catarina shopping mall, where I could buy Turkish Delight, as our daughter forgot to bring some over when she came to stay with us for Christmas, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. On our second day we arrived back to the hotel to find our room hadn't been made up or fresh towels provided. After finding one of the ladies working on our floor we asked her to make up our room which she did. We can overlook this as it was the 1st Jan. and a most of the guests vacated the hotel that morning. Breakfast was very good, however people will push in, stand in front of the fresh orange juice machine, fill their glass, drink the juice then refill their glass, irrespective that other hotel guests are also waiting! There are plenty of tongs to use to pick up bread etc. so guests don't use their hands, but this sadly is often not the case and people will reach over you and grab the bread with their hands. The restaurant are very busy and it would be good if guests looked out for them as they are continuously rushing about with piles of plates on trays. Otherwise the staff are friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again…
