Really quaint hotel, with beautiful public rooms. Bedrooms were well maintained, clean and comfortable. Good buffet breakfast, which sets you up for the day. Ideal for the centre of the city, with a good selection of restaurants nearby. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Wifi is free and I personally found it worked fairly well. Overall a great stay. Staff were friendly, mature and helpful. The breakfast was great value served in very grand surroundings in the dining room and the bar area is cosy. Overall the hotel is clean and tidy but there is building work being carried out. Our room was very small, quite claustrophobic in fact, with an air conditioning unit that was not very effective....

Just spent 3 nights in this Grand old hotel. We booked a budget room , Yes we knew it would be small but wasn't bothered as we didn't intend to be in it only to sleep. Really don't understand the comments on room size , if you book a budget room all the blurb states the rooms are small, if...

A MUST place for lunch. A top quality fantastic value buffet each day. The lounges and the bar are excellent for business or meeting friends. The large elegant dining room is fin de siecle. Courteous respectful service. I did not stay there but ate at the lunch buffet several times. Evening is a la carte. Highly recommended.

Just spent 2 night's here on a short break and loved the hotel and Porto itself. The room was clean and comfortable though not the largest of rooms. We too had scaffolding outside our window along with a lot of other rooms, it wasn't a problem but we kept curtains closed when getting changed etc. The joy of this hotel...

This is a mixed review. When we first arrived, we did not like our room. It was standard and had all the normal amenities but seemed too small and awkward. That was okay. The location was amazing on one of the most bustling commercial streets in the city so we would be out a lot. The first morning we woke...

It certainly is a Grand hotel, foyer and lounge show the days when it was a class place to stay, beautiful. The royal Windsors ( Edward & Mrs Simpson ) even stayed once ! Sadly beyond that the bedrooms are very small, lack any character and need a complete overhaul. Location can't be faulted so if you can forgive the...

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It is an excellent hotel for a city trip, very central, right in the middle of the old town centre. Our room (317) was on the top floor. It was newly renovated and was really lovely. The room was divided into a sitting area downstairs and the sleeping area was upstairs in...

We went as a party of two couples and stayed for three nights. The reception staff were very good and efficient, despite the introduction of a new computer system and we all know what that entails! They were very helpful during the course of our stay and were able to answer our queries and order taxis for us when needed....

State here as part of a city break. Good central location. Entrance and lobby's are excellent. The room was small but this is a old city centre hotel and was adequate. Breakfast was good and served from 7am to 10.30 am.
