Hotel Boa-Vista reserves for you the privilege of being the only Hotel in Foz, the noble part of the city, where the Douro river meets the Atlantic ocean. Here you are far away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything. The Historic Centre can be quickly reached along the waterfront, offering views of the natural beauty of the river and its imposing bridges. When returning to Foz, you can enjoy the walk between the river and the sea, cross the romantic Passeio Alegre garden and admire the 16th century architecture of S. Joao Fort, just across from the hotel. After the piers and lighthouses at the Douro’s bar, the sophisticated atmosphere of the modern outdoor cafes overlooking the sea is well worth a visit.

Roof top swimming pool, great for morning or afternoon swim. Rooms are nice and clean, very high stantard for 3 star hotel. Breakfast needs to improve., lovely restaurants near by. Half an hour walk to the city center, but with a nice view.

When we arrived there was head splitting renovation. My wife was sick and we needed someplace where she could rest. The staff we belligerent and suggested there was something wrong with us because we didn't want to spend the whole day out. Greedy, unethical. Clearly many of the other guests were equally disturbed.

Not in the City, yet just a short busride or a nostalgic tram ride from downtown and even closer to the great fish restaurants in Matesinhos. Unbeatable location and one of the rare Porto hotels actually on the sea. Add to this nice, comfortable rooms, a pool on the roof, and a stunning view - and you will be happy.

We were absolutely gutted when we saw our room.So so disappointing. So overpriced and staff unhelpful and one receptionist incredibly rude. We booked a twin room at the front of the property which we paid a supplement for. However we got a room looking directly at a brick wall and the rooms opposite. However the management insisted that it was a room at the front and insulted our intelligence be not taking our complaint seriously. . Do not believe the photos on the website. We had to keep the net curtains closed to give a little privacy. The view from the terrace is good but this property is very outdated. Horrible dark, dingy room. Had to have the lamps on in the middle of the day. Bathrooms have mouldy grouting and the pool has a thick scum layer around the walls. We didn't venture in. Supposed to have tea and coffee making facilities but we got one teabag and one sachet of coffee and no milk per day. Too bad if you both want tea!!

No ironing board - referred to local laundry service not open on weekend. No coffee in room (one sachet of instant brought up reluctantly), room very dated, sound travels easily (can hear all noises from next door), very dated decor with colored duvets (do they still make these for hotels?), uncomfortably hard bed, dated air conditioning. Hangers still on rings. Very poor lighting in room. Remote control wired to the wall. Hairdryer wired to the wall. Wow. Front desk staff seem reluctant to help, or answer phone, or provide solutions or offer suggestions. Breakfast room attendant was wonderful. Do not recommend for business travellers.

Do you have a room with a terrace or balcony to sit out on?
Booking directly with the hotel is possible but I doubt you will get it cheaper than on various hotel booking sites. Try a hotel booking website, book with free cancellation and payment at the hotel. Email the hotel thereafter and see if they can offer a better price.

I used Booking com without any problems (around June this year). No real explanation why you are having difficulties, sorry.

Hi. Can you get public transport from the airport yo the note? Thanks
Hi I agree with previous answer-think you'd need to go into Porto and then out again. Taxi was cheap and if you're staying at the Bia Vista ask them to arrange a taxi for you and they'll tell you the price.

Hello, Is your swimming pool heated? Thank you for your response.
Hello. We were there in mid-October. The pool is on the roof (lift access), surrounded by glass and with a glass roof, so it was warm. There is also a spacious terrace bar up there. Great for a drink while the sun was setting over the sea....... JT.

Do all the rooms have a bacony or terrace and any tips on best rooms with a view
We had a room at the front with a view of the fort opposite and the sea. All rooms appear to have been built around a central internal atrium, so I would imagine the rooms at the rear would look over the street and buildings at the back.
