The hotel is an excellent accommodation for a business trip in Porto. The room I stayed at is roomy and the bathroom is also big enough. The view of an ancient fort is very nice and there are good restaurants within a walking distance. It is located next to the sea and 10 minutes drive from downtown.

We were booked into this place by the customer. English was spoken by all the reception staff who were polite and helpful. The rooms were fine, cleaned and made up each day with a safe, minibar and complimentary bottle of water. The hotel looks out onto the Atlantic and is just by the mouth of the estuary. Being January we...

This hotel has a great location and I was eager to try out the restaurant. So when a friend had her birthday last month we went there for lunch. We had a wonderful round table for 4, very cozy atmosphere and the food was very, very good. The waiter, however, could have been more attentive. Nevertheless, I would go back.

Nice 3 star hotel in a very nice part of the towm. The problem is the staff. They seem to be living in the 90s. The night before I left i went to the reception to ask for a late check out for 2pm. The lady said there shouldnt be a problem, because they weren't fully booked the following day...

Hotel is in a really nice location but a little out of Porto. Nice restaurants close by. Breakfast is basic but good. Room 222 was quiet and out of way. I tried 3 other rooms But they were noisy. The restaurant is also fine but nothing to write home about. Quick and easy with great service!! The charm of hotel...

When in Porto stay here especially around all saints day . The dead are worshiped and a massive festival . The hotels clean and basic with great views on Porto . Simple breakfast and great super bock beers before hitting the vino de Porto tours .

Choose a front room and enjoy the views over the sea and mouth of the River Douro. Try for one of the larger rooms with a balcony! This hotel is excellently placed for the beautiful coastal walks from Foz and the riverside promenade into the town of Porto (or take the Number One vintage tram if you prefer). The roof...

Excellent room and bathroom with good toiletries. Our room had a king size bed with good pillows and duvets. The bar on the top floor had a nice view of the ocean and is very nice to relax with a glass of wine. Expect affordable and basic service here. The best part of the bar are the timings. It is...

Excellent value, well appointed rooms, excellent position for exploring the city, hop on and off buses with commentary for 10€. Bus stop about 3mins walk. 20 mins from Porto Airport, 20€ taxi. Hotel cleanliness superb. Free Wi-fi in all rooms. Breakfast very good and food in hotel restaurant very good, but suggest you book as it's not very big.

It's hard to complain about this hotel because it's such amazing value for money. My double room for single occupancy with mini bar, bathroom, fantastic wifi, gym and pool and breakfast (which, dear reader, I shall return to shortly) was €64 per night. It's quite incredible. I was here for a conference at the university and, sadly, not a vacation....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Boa-Vista reserves for you the privilege of being the only Hotel in Foz, the noble part of the city, where the Douro river meets the Atlantic ocean. Here you are far away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything. The Historic Centre can be quickly reached along the waterfront, offering views of the natural beauty of the river and its imposing bridges. When returning to Foz, you can enjoy the walk between the river and the sea, cross the romantic Passeio Alegre garden and admire the 16th century architecture of S. Joao Fort, just across from the hotel. After the piers and lighthouses at the Douro’s bar, the sophisticated atmosphere of the modern outdoor cafes overlooking the sea is well worth a visit. ... more   less
