Plus points are cozy beds, nice bathroom and excellent location. We could also ignore the lack of parking opportunity and exaggerated breakfast cost but which really made us feel uncomfortable was an impersonal treatment by the staff.
We spent 3 nights in this hotel in March of 2020. The rooms were quiet, spacious and clean and had good pillows, but what impressed me the most was the staff. For the most part they all spoke at least a bit of English and they all were so friendly and courteous. That can really make a difference! Be sure to stop at the bar, where José will take excellent care of you and make great conversation. I highly recommend this place!
This Hotel is located in a city square with restaurants, a bus stop and plenty of cabs. It is also within walking distance from many of the major attractions. Half a block from the hotel, you'll find a funicular that will drop you off at the river front. Their day staff is a little stuffy but Bruno and Maria, the desk staff in the afternoon, are amazing (Bruno the bartender was also a blast). The rooms are large, clean and smartly appointed. It is the perfect location to enjoy Porto and, for the quality of the hotel, was a great value. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
I booked a non refundable room. When i got to the hotel I asked to see a different room with a balcony. They were very considerate and told me what the price to upgrade and showed me different rooms. I opted for what i booked. Not because i didn’t like the room or the price wasn’t reasonable but i dont’ spend much time in the room anyway. So i picked a wonderful cozy room. It is spotless. They do a wonderful job. Great amenities. Big bathroom. Cozy bed. Nice desk... just all round can not fault the hotel at all .great customer service. I like ice and every night they would provide me with a bucket of ice.. nearby is a great restaurant called Santo’s? Steakhouse and pizzeria if you don’t want to walk far. The yellow bus stops about 50 feet from the hotel. In front of the pharmacy. Also, i found out today, the funicular from Ribera is 2.50 and drops you off about a block and a half from the hotel. Great options here. …
We had a great time staying in NH Hotel Collection Batalha. We highly recommend this place with very warm hospitality by every member of staff. Bruno the barman was very impressive with his amazing cocktails and informative history of Porto. We will definitely come back and stay here again.
