I booked this hotel because it is close to the place I needed to be. The hotel is brand new and modern. The room is simple and comfortable. The breakfast is good with enough variety and fresh orange, wow!
I arrived in pouring rain, got a free park at the front door and was pleasantly surprised to find an inexpensive, quiet, and spotless room with own bathroom. Easy short walk to go to rail station for a 15min, 2 euro trip to the centre of Porto. Then a fabulous place to explore, beautiful views of the river and visit Port 'caves'.
This is a clean, orderly budget hotel just enough away from the center of town to afford a quieter vibe, yet a quick metro ride to all the attractions. The large mall next door is convenient for among other things having a Continente mega store.
This hotel offers a great quality for the amount you're paying. Nice and clean, good comfortable bed, nice shower. Some sort of closet storage space. Located 5 minutes away to the Sete Bicas metro line to the centre of Porto. A one way ticket costs 1.20euro. This is also the metro station that serves the direct line to the airport. Breakfast is 8.50euro a person. I wouldn't recommend it for this price. If you're on a budget have a breakfast in the Norteshopping centre just around the corner. At the supermarket you can get a ham and cheese sandwich plus a coffee for 1.80 euro or a ham and cheese croissant with a coffee and fresh orange juice for 2.50. This hotel is the perfect start of your Porto trip and it was always a joy to go back to the hotel at night and have a pleasant rest. Definitely recommend it to friends and family.…
The hotel is less than ten minutes walk from the Sete Bicas metro station, which is on the line from the airport into the centre of town. You only need to buy a Zone 3 metro card at the airport, which is handy. The way the Porto metro seems to work, you need to buy a separate card for each category of usage (z2, z3, z4). If you go straight from the airport to the centre, you will need to buy a z4 card, which is not very useful when you are in the centre and everywhere else you want to go will be z2 or z3. There is also a direct line from Sete Bicas to Matasinhos (z3) so we did the cathedral to Matosinhos littoral walk the first day, went back to the hotel, and then returned to Matosinhos to pick up the Caminho again the next day. Our room was a reasonable size with a good shower and everything in good shape. The staff speak excellent english and were very helpful. The main drawback to the hotel is its uncharming location. There are some busy streets although traffic noise was not a problem. Most of the food options are in the large shopping mall close by. However, there is a good and cheap typical restaurant five minutes away (the Lar do Motorista).…
