Melia Koh Samui earns high marks for its spacious rooms with direct pool access and coveted 'The Level' benefits, though some guests mention noise and pricey upgrades. The service is standout, with warm and efficient staff, especially in The Level lounge. While cleanliness is celebrated, with guests admiring the well-maintained grounds and rooms, towel replenishment can be a hiccup. The amenities, including the luxurious lounge and pools, receive praise, as does the hotel's serene yet central location. However, the value perception is occasionally tarnished by the cost of food and beverages.

During our 10 days trip to Koh Samui we decided to stay in 2 different areas (Choeng mon beach and Chaweng beach) and We had an absolute heavenly stay at Melia Koh Samui at Choeng mon beach. This area is not as busy or loud as other areas and that's what we love about this beach/area..It has a lovely relaxing vibe, beautiful sandy beach with clear calm water, perfect for swimming. It is definitely great for families with young kids..

The hotel itself is so beautiful and peaceful.. Super friendly, loving and professional staff. We booked premium room with direct pool access for 5 days and it was spacious and lovely. bed was comfortable, crib was super comfortable for our baby, bathroom was spotless, large balcony and it was gorgeous (specially at night).. Breakfast buffet was delicious with variety of food, overall food at the restaurants and room service was yummy with good portion size..Resort property is huge, beautiful, clean and well maintained.. Pool is great, beach is the best..We haven't had any problem getting seats or umbrella at the pool or beach during our stay. Had the most relaxing spa experience at YHI spa.. Overall, we loved our stay and can't wait to go back already!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

The hotel has recently been re-opened after an extensive refurbishment. As of late January they are still completing some rooms but overall it has been completed and there was absolutely no impact on guests.
The hotel is stunning, the pools, outdoor area's, gardens, furniture and overall ambience is second to none. All of the staff from reception, cleaners, maintenance, food and beverage really demonstrate that genuine care and Thai hospitality to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The rooms are beautiful with excellent linen, big fluffy bathroom and beach towels, complimentary water, excellent WiFi and balconies, most of which have a big day bed (recommend booking one of these rooms). There are 2 pools, the main one on the beach with great day beds, there is a bar/restaurant and lovely sun lounges and umbrella's on the beach, all with bar service and great food. Outside the hotel everything is on your doorstep, numerous places to eat, massages and convenience stores. You are 10 minutes from the airport and Chewang nightlife/shopping. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, the price was also very reasonable so get in before the secret about how great this hotel is. We so enjoyed chatting with all the staff who couldn't do more to make you feel welcome. We highly recommend the hotel and will definitely be back.

We stayed at Melia Koh Samui between 13-20 March and had such an amazing time we decided to extend until the 24th. The resort is absolutely stunning, well-kept, cleaning ongoing throughout the day, and with a lovely beach. We had a free upgrade with the Melia annual gift and had the Pool access room with Level benefit. We were very impressed already on arrival with the reception received by the staff and welcome gift in the room. The room itself is stunning and large with one of the best beds we've ever slept in. What really made staying in this room special was the housekeeping service provided by Melia. The team really does a good job cleaning the rooms very well, something we appreciated even more during these Covid19 times. We've stayed in many 5 star resort but none have so far gone the extend Melia Koh Samui went of checking in our room multiple times a day to refresh the room and change towels, refill water, if need be. (maybe not the most environmental friendly but still a nice touch). A special thanks to the housekeeping team of Pattama who took care of this and who left us daily with a little surprise on the bed, you made us laugh a lot.

There are not enough words to say how grateful we were with the attention of the staff around the resort and how much they took care of us, and how friendly they are were. In the restaurant (Jenn and Manee in particular), the ladies at the level lounge with their daily recommendations and friendly chats, and the beach guys, with a special mention of Bawvee, who made sure all our needs were attended. But truly, all the staff is amazing and will go the extra mile to make you have the best, most relaxing time ever. The food in the restaurant was incredible as well, obv pricey compared to surrounding but worth it! The breakfast was of great quality as well but since we stayed quite a few days it became repetitive. I think the buffet was also limited due to the resort being quite empty because of the covid19 cancellations of many guests.
We ended up in Thailand and this resort by chance as our initial destination closed borders, but we are happy we got to spend this time in Melia Koh Samui and will hopefully come back in the future. To the management, you've got an excellent group of staff and hopefully you will be able to keep them during this difficult time because its not easy to find such attentive and caring people.

Finally, the location of the hotel is fab as well, the beach is great and quiet water to swim and relax. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. We don't have an idea how this area is usually as it was all quiet as tourist stayed away but nothing bad to say. If you're after an amazing holiday were you're pampered, to relax and take it easy with some daily activities this resort is the place to be!

Dear London_Nomad87, Thank you very much for your recent stay with us at Melia Koh Samui. It is amazing to learn that you had amazing time staying with us in a Pool Access room with The Level Benefit, which you even extended your stay from 7 to 11 nights. The Pool Access room is indeed one of our signature room types that allow you to enjoy a direct access to the very first Loop Pool on the island and we are very proud of it. I also could not agree more with you that the resort is absolutely stunning. The design is indeed very detailed and everything here is carefully made to impress. Moreover, we are very delighted to hear such detailed gracious comments from you about staff service that you even rate our staff 7-starred. They are very rewarding and encouraging. We love to go extra mile and make our guests enjoy the time with us to the maximum. Your nice note about Pattama, Jenn, Manee, Bawvee, and staff at The Level Lounge would be shared accordingly. Thank you so much for also highlighting our location, beach, bed, guest room, breakfast and especially food in the restaurant that you found it incredible and good value for money. In regard to the variety of breakfast, we will look into it right away. Lastly, thank you for your care of our staff during this difficult time. We are maintaining all the staff and ensuring 100% of salaries during this coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to thank you once again for your time recommending us and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to Melia Koh Samui. Everything you dreamed of it is right here. Incredible new opening in the island, Melia Koh Samui is definitely a must if what you are looking for is top quality and service to a very reasonable price.

The hotel offers all options of accommodation for single travelers to couples, families and people with limited mobility.

Premium Pool Access rooms are probably the little gem of the hotel, jump to the pool directly from your outdoor terrace and enjoy swimming around the resort.

Should you want something more special, stay at one of the Boat Suites, a duplex suite with the shape of a boat, couldn't have more of an island vibe.

The hotel offers as well Kid's Club service, Spa and several meeting rooms and an incredible swimming pool overlooking the Gulf.

The breakfast area is located near the lobby, buffet breakfast with top quality products, all you need to start the day. Chef Azizkandar is one of the best, don't miss the opportunity to do lunch or dinner and enjoy his cuisine.

On an additional note, the staff at the hotel provides an excellent service, extremely helpful and attentive to your needs; they will happily assist you, should you need transportation from/to the airport, which is located only 10-15 min drive.

Definitely a don't miss hotel if you are staying in Koh Samui.

The Melia has undergone a major 2 year refurbishment in effect making it a brand new hotel. After entering through a very impressive entrance we arrived at reception and the start of a five star (plus) experience. The girls on reception were so welcoming and genteel. This ethos ran right through the hotel with every member of staff. We had a deluxe room which was spacious and well designed, a nice balcony with a day bed and bath. The towels both in the room and by the pool/beach area were in plentiful supply and of the highest quality both large and fluffy.
We ate both lunch and dinner in The Breeze restaurant down by the beach. The menu had both Thai and Western dishes, in the evening the dishes were of the finest cuisine the meals were the best we had in our month long journey. Whilst all the staff were friendly, I’d like to mention Bahwee who looked after us on the beach and Jan in the restaurant they really went out of their way to look after us. Breakfast was taken in separate restaurant and again was exceptional. Catering for all nationalities.
The showpiece of this wonderful hotel were the gardens and pool areas. One pool in particular wound it’s way through the grounds under bridges, through waterfalls and jacuzzi areas. It took either 15 minutes to complete or 30 minutes if you stopped at the pool bar for a cocktail half way round. There was also a large pool by the beach with many choices of seating around it. I have to say I have travelled for many years and this hotel was one of my finest experiences. Well done to the management and staff.

I give 5 stars for this hotel because of the good staffs who work very hard woth their true passion for their job. I am working in hospotality business myself so I tend to value the place where they treat their employees well. We stayed during the ling weekend in october. The hotel was very lively with guests.
We have encoutered a few situations during my stay that impressed and also shocking for us. We were upgraded to their top suite inside the actual boat from a promotion deal. It was truely impressive. We saw the lady housekeeper who made up my room was running very fast to make sure that she clean the room in time. Her lady manager came to check and see if everything was ok, the housekeeping manager immidiately get down on the floor and help her staff clean. It was a beautiful relationship which should be praised to all. I admire you very much.
The food at the restaurant is gorgeous. We didnot want to go outside and bother to wat elsewhere. The service in the restaurant is kind of slow. Although we saw many staffs around.
Another point that should be improved is receptionist, we were told to wait for room for 1 hour but it became 2 hours. Nobody bother to inform us until we walked back to the lobby to ask for our room. We also waited for oir lugguages for over 40 minutes!!!
Overall we had a good time at melia. thank you for a nice present from housekeeping (Bella, Tong, Pat, Nan) and decoration in our room.

Just spent 4 wonderful days in this hotel, I don’t know where to start, everything was amazing.
What’s make the difference and put Melia above all is the level of service. The staff is excellent, kind, they are all great people.
The facilities are very modern, the rooms are super clean and all properly disinfected, each room taped “disinfected” when done.
I was first in another 5 stars hotel around and by accident ended up trying the Melia restaurant, the food was so good that it makes me come back as guest, from European/Mediterranean dishes to traditional Thai food, the menu covers all kind of taste…The view while eating I great too!
The beach is very clean, white sand, no stones so you won’t need any special swimming shoes to play in the water.
They have a lot of discounts/promotions for Thai and also Expats, everyone is welcome.
I would especially like to mention K.Aun the Guest Experience Manager who really cares about the guests and of course the restaurant team which was perfect.
Thank you K.Ken, K.Eye, K.Katt, K.Kamlai, K.Meena,K.Oil, K.Oh, K.Teera, K.Bao ! sorry for those I forgot.
Definitely, my new place to stay in Samui, the best hotel so far.

Melia koh samui is the best resort which I traveled in Thailand. The resort is really beautiful and convenient (beautiful swimming pool, free kayak, paddle board and yoga classes). All the staff, including gardeners and cleaners, had warm smiles so I felt very welcomed.
We went to the zip line place which is really middle of forest but hotel van driver Mr. Sun was really helpful, he took many photos for us.
Because of COVID they open only one restaurant but it is located just in from of sea, so it is beautiful especially near sunset. The food was also delicious. If you go there enjoy happy hour drink it is 1+1!
We had really enjoyed at Melia Ko samui!!!
Thank you Aun, Nali, Sun, Oil.... and all the staffs!

Nice new hotel with great facilities on beautiful beach. With its isolated location, white sand and crystal clear water (no rock), Cheongmon is by far my favorite beach in Samui.

All staffs are very attentive. We ate at the hotel all days, foods are great, good quality and very tasty. Although they serve a la carte instead of breakfast buffet due to Covid 19, it comes with good variety of choices. Having dinner at the beach restaurant also a good leisure. Special thanks to K Wan - restaurant staffs and her team for their exceptional service.

Will definitely comeback again!

Only a short two-night stay for us but we felt totally at home as soon as we arrived at Melia. Our Lagoon Pool Access room was perfect, huge bathroom with separate power and rain shower and bathtub, large bedroom, lovely bed, large work area and snug little rest area. Outside we had a neat little porch with an oversized sun lounger, plus two wicker chairs with large cushions and small table. A few steps from our room and we were able to plunge into the lagoon pool, which flows around the entire resort.

We dined at Breeza and Chef Aziz and he team really came up with some quite brilliant cuisine. We also spent a few hours in the Level Club Lounge and the lovely Ms Fair took our enjoyment and comfort to another level. The gardens at Melia are maintained to a high standard with manicured lawns and flowering plants, both of which attract lots of birds. Just so relaxing sitting in the garden on a comfy beanbag listening to birds chirping.

Our daily breakfast was served at KoKo kitchen and given the limited number of guests, the team went to great lengths to put on a full buffet breakfast. We only left the resort once to take a short walk along the local high street but not much happening.

We would highly recommend a visit to Melia Koh Samui. General Manager Ernesto and his team are clearly guest-oriented and took very good care of everyone. A special call out to Khun Oi for making us feel at home.
