The room was terrible, there was mould growing on the walls, the room was damp too making sleeping an issue, the noise from the road was deafening! you had to have a window open to drown the smell of mold and drains, this was a terrible stay, the shampoo sachets were barely enough to use and them shower walls were... A nice meal in a formal setting, reasonably priced. The food is good. Tasty and well presented. Some imaginative cuisine. Chef got the sauce wrong for the fish but, on the other hand, the sauce with the St Jacques timbale was spot on. Good value and the St Pourcain wines are very pleasant. Worth a visit.

Another visit to St.Pourcain to buy some wine at the end of our French holiday We knew there was not much choice in the town, so were pleased to try Chene Vert again..On a hot night we were happy to eat indoors in front of an open window. This gave us speedy service and peace and quiet. We had a typical... More

I needed a decent hotel for the night but had nothing booked. The receptionist was very good. I had a twin room with everything I needed. Good hotel, good value. It was a very busy week as the Semaine federale cycling event was taking place and therefore parking was difficult. However, I don't think this would normally be an issue... More

This review refers to the restaurant only. The Logis unfortunately sits on the busy main road through the town. Having said that, we ate inside for Sunday lunch and were not unduly disturbed by noise. The terrace would undoubtedly suffer from the traffic and if you eat outside you may have to dine with smokers. It's a neat and comfortable... More

We arrived at this hotel with no reservations but the desk clerk was friendly. The room was average, clean, but the street noise was horrendous. Be SURE and ask for a room in the second building AWAY from the street. The meal at the restaurant was awesome. Food terrific, the wine probably the best we had in France. Not much... More

Spacious and well lit rooms and up to standard expected from logis. Good well appointed restaurant with excellent service. Probably the best lapin I have had! Wifi poor and unsecured so avoided which was unfortunate. No parking!!! Said there was which is one reason for booking. Had to park on central reservation in public car park without security a distance... More

We have been here several times the last years during our holiday in the neighbourhood, but this year (24/7) at 20.15 in a terrible rain, we were not permitted to enter for dinner, not inside or not at the terras where were a lot of empty tables. We will never come back, so unfriendly! We could go in the rain... More

This hotel rates as one of the very worst I have ever stayed in. In previous reviews it was noted by guests that the bathroom in one of the triple rooms was unusable as the bath had no plug and the shower didn't have a socket to attach it to above the bath that would make it useable. Nothing has... More

I think it’s a shame that the traditional French hotels are disappearing in favor of the modern chain hotels. This hotel is good example of how a traditional hotel should be: pleasant, full of character and a lot of attention to the restaurant. It’s in a nice town and the old Route Nationale 9 passes right in front. Ample parking... More
