This hotel has a very good ubication, 6 small blocks from Syntagma Square, so, if you come from the airport, you can either take the #95 bus form 5€, ( another 5€ for the return ticket ) or the round trip in metro for 14€ ( or 8€ one way) , both gets you to this square and from there,...

We spent 4 days in this hotel in Athens and were very happy with the choice. The hotel is very well located and close to most tourist attractions. The personnel was great, very polite and willing to help. The breakfast is amazing! Not a luxury hotel but it's clean and efficient.

We have stayed here several times; it never disappoints. Rooms are small, but modern and clean - a family can have adjoining rooms with a connecting door. Shower rooms have been upgraded and are also clean and modern. A good self service breakfast. Spectacular views from the roof terrace that make the most of a wonderful location within walking distance...

We stayed here at the beginnign of a week long explore of Greece. Having never been before we were relieved and delighted to have found this gem in the centre of Athens' cultural centre, which is also a very easy journey from the airport. Our room was on the sixth floor and was clean, well looked-after, well presented and comfortable....

Plaka Hotel turned out to be a perfect place to stay while in Athens. Check-in was easy, the welcoming pastries were delicious and the bottle of wine a nice touch, breakfast each day was quite good and the roof-top bar, at the end of each day, was spectacular. We were there the first part of September and the view of...

We stayed here one night in transit to the airport. It was very convenient to the Monastiraki subway station. 2 blocks and you have access to everything in the Athens area. Many restaurants and bars in the immediate area and the primary shopping area, Ermou street, was a block away. The hotel was well managed with very high quality materials...

I stayed one night at Plaka Hotel. Overall, very nice staff that was knowledgeable on even the most mundane of questions. They even offered me an umbrella as it was raining. Breakfast ok, nothing special. Don't read too negative on that, as I'm used to American breakfast with lots of hot options. Unless youre at a major chain in Europe,...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
