What a great value hotel in a perfect and safe location. The staff were keen to ensure you had a comfortable stay and that you were looked after well. They advice about visiting sites was spot on and the rooms were very clean. Would stay here again.

Great location with lots of great eating places just a short stroll away, room was small but very comfortable, air conditioner struggled with the heat but was ok. Staff were great, nothing was a problem and free wifi too. Great place to stay in Plaka

The thing about Hotel Plaka is the longer you stay the better off you realise you are! It's close to the MET when you are coming in from the airport ... Close to the MET when you are catching the MET to the port. It's close to many differing types of restaurants and shopping. It's close to the many ancient...

We stayed 3 nights, our welcome included a bowl of fruit and 2 mini bottles of wine. The rooms and bathroom were clean and functional, soundproofing worked well considering the hotels proximity to the Plaka. Breakfast range was excellent and a member of staff wandered the tables to assist with her local knowledge of sites to visit, an excellent touch....

Dear Diane M, We are very proud to have earned your recommendation and thank you for mentioning experience on TA community. Concerning the small elevator, as most hotels in this area of similar category, they were built under different regulations and for static reasons it is not easy to be changed. We thank you again. We stayed here for 3 nights during August. The location is perfect. It's very close to the main street of Plaka where all the shops are and a lot of good restaurants. The rooftop bar is a great place to watch the sunset over the Acropolis and one night we even saw the lights go up on the hill. It...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
