We had a small but well appointed room that had a great view of the Acropolis from the bed. The windows opened and allowed the air and sounds to enter from below. It's near a school in Plaka, so there were lots of kids playing nearby which we enjoyed hearing... The hotel staff were very pleasant, but not overbearing in...

Great staff! The junior suite I stayed in was just as advertised. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I very much enjoyed the welcome plate of fresh fruits and bottle of wine. Since my room was on the second floor and facing Navarhou Nikodimou, I only had a partial view of the Acropolis, but the garden view...

This hotel is located in the heart of the tourist district. There is plenty of shopping and dinning options in the area. The major tourist attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. Taxi service to the hotel is a flat 38 euros from the airport and back to the airport was 43 euros. Taxi service in the city is...

Great place in good location close to attractions. The foyer has an air of luxury. The spa is a little odd as when you are in the pool the reception desk is right there which is a little off putting. I had a lovely massage though. Comfortable beds, tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely buffet breakfast with Greek yogurt, waffle...

The view from the rooftop of the Acropolis just can't be beat! It was gorgeous both day and night. Not to mention just a lovely view of Athens in general. Our stay here was great, loved our room, enjoyed the staff and the masseuses are outstanding!!!! Would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it!

Best location, breakfast, & absolutely the most comfortable bed we have had in all our travels. If the linens and mattress could have fit in my suitcase, they would have been gone!!! Hotel staff was super, especially the dining room manager & the tall blond female hostess/server. They couldn't be harder workers or more on the ball. We wanted a...

I enjoyed our stay here and the place is well situated where you can easily access beautiful places by just walking. Breakfast is excellent and staff very courteous, presentable and helpful. The building is well designed and I love the pomegranate trees. Word of caution is the traffic and better use train to catch up with your flight

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had an issue with the agent that booked the room. We weren't aware of it on check in, Georgina moved the front desk staff member just fixed the problem and moved us to a suite. 300 odd euros and the rooms were traditional and clean. A little dated but still very nice. Breakfast...

We stayed two nights pre-cruise in May. We booked a standard double and were happy to have been upgraded a bit to a high floor room. We did not have an Acropolis view, but it was easy to go upstairs to the pool deck to enjoy the view. The location is perfect for a base of exploration. The Plaka is...

This is lovely hotel with beautiful common spaces on the ground floor, quite a nice breakfast spread, and very helpful staff. The dining area and bar on the fifth floor has a spectacular view of the Acropolis and is a wonderful place for an evening drink. Unfortunately the rooms are a bit small and not up to the standard of...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
