I booked here at late notice and stayed for a night and have no real complaints. Great location near Ermou, Syntagma and Monasteraki. Staff were helpful, room was clean but bathroom was small. Would stay here agin when passing through Athens in the future.

Very bad hotel for what it is advised for. No soundproof rooms, very loud, air conditioner is terribly noisy, can't sleep without cause no nets on balcony door, needs huge makeover! Lift is small can only fit 2 people. Breakfast good. Location great. Would not recommend this hotel for more than 1 night stay, especially if you are on family...

Good location, plenty of space in the room, air conditioning was much appreciated, helpful to have luggage storage. Although our room was next to the elevator, we didn't hear any outside noises. For the price, our expectations were exceeded.

The hotels is worth lower-than usually price if you are not comfortable with the basic necessities. It's location, about 2 blocks from Syntagma Square makes it an ideal place to explore the city and surrounding. Plus you are only minutes from the Plaka and plenty of places to eat. The only negative aspect of the hotel would be that there...

This cozy hotel in Athens center is perfect for the budget traveler. My only complaint would be that noise from the hall carries into the rooms. It is the perfect location and the staff is amazingly helpful with impressive English. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms very clean and lovely. If you're not used to European baths it can...

Enjoyed the stay at the Hotel Achilleas. Good location in Athens, good breakfast each morning and lots of space in the hotel room (for Europe). Front staff helped with directions and arranging taxis/ shuttles. Only negative is the room smelled like cigarette smoke.

The customer service was absolutely terrible. Soon as I entered the hotel I approached the desk and said I would like to check in. The person behind the desk looked at me and said 'that's good'. After a long pause I said I need to check in, to which he replied 'that's nice' again just looking at me. 15 seconds...

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
