The location is excellent, you can go to the hotel from airport directly by train or bus. It's just around 5 mins walk from the train station or 2 mins walk from the bus station. You can walk to Zeus Temple and Acropolis within 20 mins, walk to supermarket within 15 mins, so it's very convenient! The bed and the...

Not a fancy hotel by any means, but we really enjoyed our stay here. Location is the major selling point of this hotel. It is directly across from Syntagma Square and the National Garden, easily accessible by Metro. Major attractions like Acropolis and the Plaka neighborhood are very walkable from the hotel. The room is small, but comfortable. Free Wi-fi...

What a delight, really great hotel with helpful, courteous staff. Large comfortable, spotless room with one of the best beds I've slept in. Breakfast was first class with a wide variety of good food. Perfect location for visiting all the historical sites. Buses, taxis and Metro all within a few minutes walk and all cheap too. Tourist shopping areas and...

My family stayed in this hotel on april 13 to 18. We arrived early (10:00am) from the airport before checkin time of 2:00pm. While waiting for our room, the front desk offered us breakfast since we haven't eaten yet. This is VERY commendable because they show empathy. The waitress in Chrysalis restaurant was also very helpful and kind. I wasn't...

The hotel is a normal one. I'm not sure if it really deserves its 4 stars but there were no problems with tidyness or with service. The bathroom was a bit outworn but sothing severe. The view from the roof terrace to the Acropolis is great. Breakfast is very good, special plus is the greek coffee that you can prepare...

This hotel is very upscale and in a great location walking distance to the major historical sites and across the street from the National Botanical Garden. A very nice breakfast buffet is included. Adjacent to the old city area of Plaka.

Amalia was a great find for us. A simple ride from the airport and from there we did not need any other public transportation to see the main sites. We stayed in the family suite, with our three children and were very happy with the rooms. The breakfast was top notch as well. Highly recommend.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
