This hotel is a block from the metro station, a straight shot (45 minutes) from the airport. There is free internet access, an optional pleasant breakfast in the morning, and a location convenient to the festive market and tourist area surrounding the Acropolis. Toward the Acropolis, there are countless restaurants, tourist shops, archaeological sites, churches and charming houses. There is...

This is the perfect place to stay for sightseeing in Athens. It is within walking distance of Monistiraki station, Acropolis and restaurants. Very friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms and a stunning view of the Acropolis from the roof terrace bar!

I only had a few days in Athens and this was the perfect place to stay. Walked to the Acropolis and to nearby restaurants. Good breakfast in the morning and courteous and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

There are so many positive things to say about this little hotel! The room rate was very reasonable, the location was excellent (within walking distance of Monistiraki metro station), the breakfast was tasty, the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar was simply amazing. We couldn't have asked for...

An over night stay en route home from the islands. The hotel is clean and comfortable and a great location - we only had an evening here so it was good to be able to step out and take in the atmosphere with only a short walk to restaurants and shops. We had our evening meal beneath the Acropolis -...

We had one night in Athens at the end of a cruise. We were able to take a taxi from the port, leave our luggage at the hotel, and be at the Plaka having a coffee by 9:30 AM. Attalos Hotel is wonderfully situated near the Plaka and with a reasonable walk to the Akropolis. The staff is very friendly...

Excellent value. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable and a decent size with a small balcony. Great service from reception as well as the breakfast room staff. Breakfast was nice but quite basic. Very good location for walking around Monastiraki and easy access to the train to the airport. Free wifi worked well from the room. Overall,...

My husband and I, along a with another couple, stayed at the Attalos for 10 days in August (8/10-8/20). The high points of staying here were the location (practically centrally located to everything we wanted to walk to), the views of the Parthenon (both from our room balconies and the rooftop bard), and most especially the friendliness of the staff....

We decided to stay in this Hotel by reading a friend's review. It is a traditional small hotel centrally located. The rooms were of regular size, bathroom small but everything sparkling clean. AC worked perfect as well as the Wifi connection, rooftop terrace has the most wonderful view. Nice continental breakfast and the staff is wonderful extremely helpful and attentive.

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
