budget hotel, the rooms are spacious enough, the rooftop bar area is excellent, fantastic views of the acropolis especially at night lit up it's a sight to see. It is only a quick 5-10 minute walk to restaurants, market area and great shopping area (zara etc). However the area around the hotel is a bit sad. The rooms are tired,...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel was a short walking distance from the metro. Every morning we had breakfast on the roof top while viewing the acropolis. This was a great way to start each day. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

This hotel was a lot better than we expected. The hotel was very close to the Plaka and nearby restaurants and markets. The rooms, were quite big and even though the decor was dated, this did not deter from the service we received. The staff were always friendly and very helpful. The breakfast on the roof-top was great and probably...

When you want to visit the highlights of Athens, this hotel is a good base. It is near the Agora. Also near a lot of restaurants and monasteraki. The hotelroom is simple but oke. The service is average. But the most spectacular thing of this hotel is the restaurant on the roof. You have sight on the Akropolis. Amazing. Breakfast...

My husband and I stayed at Jason Inn in May. The hotel is nicely situated about 3 blocks from the foot of Acropolis. The streets though can be dirty and look chaotic because of the graffiti everywhere, however, we found the area to be pretty safe, well-lit and quiet in the evenings. It is also just a few blocks to...

We travel almost every year to Greece and always need to spend a few nights in Athens transiting to other parts of the country or to the airport. For our last night this year I booked a room (last minute) at Jason Inn thinking we would enjoy the rooftop view even though I could easily get a room for 1/2...

The hotel is very basic. The rooms are kind of old looking with faded carpetry etc. The rooftop restuarant too doesnt have a lot of variety. The view from the rooftop is good though. The location of the hotel too is a little downmarket. It's near the Plaka village, and the street next to the hotel had some shady characters...

My husband and I needed a place to sleep for one night between our ferry back from Mykonos and our flight home to the US. We wanted somewhere cheap and in a different area of the city than we stayed before. We certainly got that. We got off the Metro at Thissio and walked to the hotel, which was a...

Good location, close to the center but not a bad neighbourhood (although covered in graffiti, which makes it look a bit messy). Rooms are reasonably spacious and seem rather new. However, some small changes could improve them substantially. Having exposed electicity wires just below the shower is really not a good idea. There should also be a high place to...

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
