I stayed here for three nights. It is a lovely hotel in an amazing location, just 15mins walk to the Acropolis and restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Good sized bathrooms. The breakfast was great with an amazing view looking out towards the Acropolis. However, I was disappointed that free WiFi was not available in the room that...

Excellent as expected in a luxury hotel. Perfectly situated and near Acropolis. You will not be disappointed with this choice of hotel. The shopping area of Plaka is just a few blocks away. There are many restaurants in the near area.

This is a wonderful hotel with very attentive staff. You can also use the facilities of the Grand Bretagne next door but I think this is the nicer hotel. Our first morning we watched the changing of the guard at the Parliament building from the restaurant where we were having breakfast (every Sunday : very popular) The view of the...

Planning our 20th anniversary trip to Athens, Santorini and Istanbul, I was surprised that there did not seem to be a good variety of top chain 5-star hotels to choose from in an important city like Athens, especially in the heart of the city, Syntagma Square and Plaka. So King George came as a no brainer for us. My only,...

I booked an evening meal at the King George to finish off our long weekend in Athens. Everything about it was special. We had a drink in the small outdoor bar area before the meal then we were seated in the dinning area overlooking the Parthenon. I booked a month or so ahead and requested a table outside on the...

Very hard to find any fault with this hotel. From the staff to the facilities (you can also use the facilities at The Grand Bretagne next door and charge to your room acc). Do not miss out on breakfast, it's worth it and the range on offer including the Greek delicacies is astounding and of course you have that view....

Hotel was chosen for us but sure we wouldn't have found anywhere nicer or better located. Excellent breakfast too. Walked from there to see many of Athens sights> Enjoyed the views from room and dining room.

We were in Athens for a very delicate family matter but our stay turned out to be a very relaxing break-out. Staff is wonderful, attentive and efficient. We had booked a deluxe double room with view but because it was not ready when we arrived we were upgraded to a junior suite. The suite was excellent, with comfortable bed and...

Arrived in the evening and met by a friendly but still efficient check in. Enough information but sensitive to our tiredness and allowed us get to our room. Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
