We stayed only one night since we were going to the port the next morning. We found the location to be very good, the room was fine, clean and there was little noise at night. There are several ok eating places within walking distance. We had a good breakfast before we left the hotel, the service is good so I'm...

Very central in its location and served the purpose of my stay. Most of the staff was very helpful. The markets are in the same block and a daily stroll to start the day was simply great. The room was very small but had what I needed and as a single, was just perfect. Breakfast isbasic but plenty and ok....

Booked this hotel for an extra night as this was our meeting point for the organized tour we were taking. Rooms are basic but clean, beds were hard and blankets very thin & stiff. Request extra blankets if you tend to get cold at night. Staff were nice and spoke english which was very helpful. Keep in mind the surrounding...

Good, clean hotel, in a convenient, central location. Nothing fancy, but absolutely adequate. What is lacking in "frills" is made up for by the excellent staff, who are very well informed about the city and do not hesitate to help with maps and directions, and even restaurant recommendations. Simple (cold) breakfasts are available early enough to accommodate any tour itineraries,...

We stayed here last month for 3 nights and I was a bit worried as it is only a 2* hotel. However, for the price we paid there is absolutely nothing I can complain about. The room was spacious enough and clean. We had a very friendly welcome. The receptionist gave us a map of Athens and told us about...

With the economy hotel you get exactly what you expect. Economy. For a double room it's 63 EUR in September 2016. Finding the place was easy, thanks to google maps. Walking in to that place you'll already realise it must be an older building. The check in process was quick, the staff know what he does. Even tho it's old....

The hotel is in a good location and the staff are good. The WiFi is good and there is air con . But the rooms are noisy as you can hear all your neighbors through the ventilation shafts so its not great if you want to get some sleep

Like the name of the hotel, it's a budget place. It's central location makes it a good value also. Walking distance from Plaka area and all other main sightseeings. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is basic. Rooftop terrace has a view on Acropolis and a large part of the city. I would certainly recommend it.

This hotel was in a central position and good location, so everywhere was within reach. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast served was very good. On the whole it was well worth it for the money paid!

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
