Staying at Melia, Athens for my first visit to Greece was a great experience. The hotel was ideally located and all places of interest were easy accessible. The room is a bit small, but spacious enough. Smart design! Staff, front desk, room service, and restaurant (wonderful breakfast included) were friendly and professional in their conduct. Definitely want to stay there...

Fabulous hotel. Stayed for long weekend. Excellent facilities and lovely room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and excellent location just a few minutes from the archeological museum and a few minutes from the city centre. Would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent hotel to stay in. Lovely breakfast. Good rooms modern, nice and clean. Staff 10/10 very helpful and friendly. Only disappointed with the roof bar been closed during winter hours. It was one of the main reasons we choose the hotel for the views but staff were happy to open it for us to get some photos of the Acropolis so...

We stayed twice there this year. We booked a supreme room. Very clean and nice bathroom, especially if you asked for the room with a bigger bathroom. i think the bigger rooms are on the quite site of the hotel not with a street room. We stayed there last January. We asked a quite room and we got it. Essential. Rooms quity tiny and most of them facing on the main road and not adequately insonorized so that you can hear rumors all the night. The bed was not particularly soft and the pillow too much thick. Personnel was helpfull and tried to solve the issues. The zone is not the best in Athens expecilally at night. We also...

Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
