We stayed for 3 nights. Overall i enjoyed the hotel, there are some areas the hotel could easily improve: Check in/check out - the procesa is really slow because they use aome old paper files to find and store your details, ask you to write out your address and contact details etc. It was really annoying when we were waiting...

This is a decent hotel in the price range. You must check out the Sky Bar at the terrace, it has a beautiful view of the Acropolis and the city. The breakfast buffet is good. Rooms are a little small that what I expected. Melia is 5 minutes walking distance to the busiest market/street i.e. Ermou street.

My room in this hotel was actually rather nice, albeit 'slightly worn on the edges'. However, there was too much noise from the street and some of the reception staff were a bit arrogant which I havent experienced in any other hotel in Athens. But the neighborhood was the worst thing about this hotel.experience. Id recommend a new visitor to...

Hi, location of the hotel is very central , and the roof top swimming pool has a great view of Acropolis , nice cute little bar along with the swimming pool . but the rooms of the hotels seems to be very small as I did not expected after paying more than 110€ for a night , and view from...

Very good hotel for the price. The room was clean, the bed was very comfy and large. Most of all I would like to thank the staff at the rooftop restaurant who made us feel welcome although we arrived very late. The view was amazing and the service made us forget a difficult flight. Thank you! We would stay there...

Melia Hotel Athens Location - good walking distance about 15 mins walk to the Plaka. The area around the hotel looks a little jaded but don’t worry that is Athens. It has lots of graffiti. We walked back from dinner in the Plaka late on a Saturday night without a problem. Rooms - good size rooms comfortable and modern bed...

Absolutely loved this hotel a little far from the action. In a locals area with markets on the streets. Walking distance to Monastiraki. Great deal for the price with a rooftop pool overlooking the Acropolis.

Checkin service was brilliant at 1am when arriving from Piraeus. But I am staying in a premium room which is tiny. Additionally I went for a late breakfast... Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
