The people there were very friendly and spoke excellent English for the most part. Our package included an excellent breakfast, including foods for both Europeans and non-Europeans alike. The rooftop dining couldn't be beat for the great view, though I would have appreciated being able to eat earlier than 8 PM. The cafe just off the lobby includes several dishes...

We stayed there for a couple of nights and were happy with our choice. Rooms are big and modern. Bathroom also big, clean and and with lots of toiletries. Staff were helpful and the roof pool and bar a perfect place to beat the heat. It is not located very closed to main attractions but you can take the underground...

This is an excellent hotel. It is a 20 minute walk from Plaka and the main tourist sites. The rooms are of an excellent quality and the staff are very helpful. I would book again if I returned to Athens.

Booked this hotel for two nights during a week long trip visiting Athens area in Sept. The temp was still up at 30C so the hotel was perfect for a number of reasons. Easy to get to from the airport - allow 30 mins on the metro. Easy to get anywhere - walk into Plaka (or 1 metro stop). We...

Lovely room, slightly out the centre but on the route of the city tour bus if you are doing the tourist thing. Pool on roof very nice but not that many sun loungers, nice pool towels given and great bar. Breakfast was very busy and an extra so I popped out to a lovely bakery around the corner and there...

Recently had a 4 day stay and was disappointed with the overall experience. The cost of the Hotel certainly did not justify the available amenities. The room was exceptionally small, the carpet was very dirty and the additional costs were unexpected. The Hotel was centrally located but in the Omonia square district which does not justify the price for the...

Very disappointed with the Melia. We paid for a supreme room and there wasn't anything supreme about it. The room was tiny, the view was disappointing (facing an office alley) and the carpets in our room were dirty, stained and disgusting!!! I was looking for a shoe under the bed and I was horrified at how dirty it was and...

I found the location to be fairly central, probably avoid Omonia square at night, although very busy during the day which is handy for ATM's inside a dept store. Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
