The hotel is situated in Plaka with a bundle of things to see just outside the door. The hotel management is excellent and friendly (thanks for the nice treats at our departure ) The reception is more than helpful when locating local restaurants or giving directions for sights or other. The rooms are “funny” – in a good way. We...

We visited the Grecotel Pallas during New Year's Eve for 7 nights and we are very happy with what we got. The hotel's location is just brilliant, steps away from Monasteraki square and acropolis. We arrived late in the evening and we were greeted by Anastasia, the receptionist. She did a great job in checking us in and giving some...

Booked 2 rooms for a total of 5 non consecutive nights whilst in Athens. Experienced a number of different and quirky rooms from birds themes, to Smurfs to TinTin. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel is a 10 minute walk to the main square. Breakfast is a well stocked buffet and the building has...

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel is centrally located, easy to walk all around. The rooms are nice and the staff was very attentive. Breakfast was a real special treat. My only comlain was low water pressure at 5th floor.

Nice hotel , not so many guests during the week , but very busy in the weekend and then the seating capacity is insufficient for breakfast . Bed not very comfortable, small room , some more staff at breakfast would be pleasant , when it's busy they are really overloaded. No water cooker for coffee or tea in the room....

This review is long past due. Loved this place!!! From the beginning to the end everything was just perfect. We arrived before sunrise and received the warmest reception - guys at the desk met us with smiles and offered us options where to freshen up after the long flight, because of course room couldn't be ready that early; and offered...

The staff were most attentive, Superman would not have been my first choice for theme but had comfortable beds, nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast!!! I will emphasize that the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, even packed lunch for our departure day.

This is a very unique hotel in a great location. Every employee was very friendly and helpful. The only problem was that between 8.45 AM and 10 AM there were not enough tables for breakfast. Once we waited 30 min - which is not fun on vacation.

Prior to embarking on the Celebrity Constellation for a 14 day cruise from Piraeus to Abu Dhabi, I spent 2 nights at a corner Prestige Pallas Suite (4th Floor) in this sumptuous hotel. The superb hospitality began when my driver, holding up a colossal poster with my name, greeted me at the ATH international airport. He's from Crete, and since...

We had the absolute pleasure to organise our annual partner meeting at this incredible gem in the heart of Athens. This is not just a classy and sophisticated boutique hotel with a cool and approachable feeling but mostly a great experience to live in. The warm welcome, professionalism and curtesy at the front desk is the beginning of your journey....

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
