I was looking for a cheap and decent room where to sleep a couple of nights during a business trip at Pireaus and at Savoy Hotel I found it! Great Value for money! A double room for single use at 44,00 Eur/day, breakfast included, (found...More
Great hotel. Staff very helpful good English. Excellent breakfast Good assortment. Room very clean. Good AC. Close to the
Ferries to Greek islands. Would stay there again. Reasonably price. Good restaurants within walking distance.
Found the Savoy Hotel in Athens to be in desperate need of painting and updating. Rooms and hallways were were old and worn looking, reminded me of a very old motel 6 in the US. Wouldn’t recommend it to a friend.

We stayed in a room of three for a night and we were satisfied.

Booked George's Taxi for transfers to/from the Savoy hotel and airport. BUT during the stay discovered that the subway system is within a very short cab ride from the hotel. The trains go right to the airport and shopping areas. The only consideration is luggage. We had one carryon backpack each so we were very mobile. It was easy breezy. My only caution when taking public transport is to get directions. know the name of your stop. I found that often the stops went by 2 names. The folks at the terminals are VERY friendly and VERY helpful with this information. Inside of the train cars you will find a map with a light that illuminates for each city as you approach. Nothing to be nervous about jump in! Oh and if you are going to the Acropolis and/or Museum you can do this by subway as well. FAR cheaper than cabs. It takes a bit longer but it's a great way to see how the locals live.
