we were ther for 4 nights at july 2020 (out of season) and they didnt have many customers so that was good for us because they gave us a big room for family with 2 kids. But the breakfast was tupically and not good cleaning (didnt change towels). The stuff were great and gave us all the informations about the area and everything. The hotel is outside Karpenisi (2 km) on a hill with wonderfull view. The prise was cheap (for of season) Recomende it.

Hotel which is really nice. Clean rooms, nice bathrooms, comfortable bed, very relaxing. Breakfast was ok, staff were helpful & kind, and an overall enjoyable experience. Nice job with the deco! The only con is the location but you get over it with what is offered!

We stayed on Avaris hotel Karpenisi on December 8 - 10th December 2006. Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms, interior swimming pool, two playrooms, sauna, conference hall. We had a very nice stay, the porters and the waiters are very friendly and allways ready to fullfill any need ( I could wait the receptionists to be more friendly ). Breakfast was rather poor, for a hotel that charges 220 euros per night.

The location is really very good and the stuff very friendly but the problem is that the building needs renovation. The room was clean but the doors of the balcony were broken and all the wind was coming inside during a snowstorm. We asked for a solution but this couldn't be given. Also the quality of the breakfast was very poor. We couldn't find even butter which was replaced by something like butter

If you have kids and want them to be in rooms that everyone smokes then Avaris is the place to be. All kids in the hotel sleep after 11pm and all families leave there kids with no supervision all throughout the day and the employees say that smoking is permitted while everywhere there are signs of "no smoking'. The breakfast was awful. Even the coffee. Very expensive when you order room service, coffee or water. Everyone that writes good critics should at least have no children or be a fanatic smoker!

We spent five nights at the hotel. The room, actually a suite to which we got upgraded, was very large and clean. Service was excellent and staff extremely polite. We very much enjoyed traditional breakfast, which included homemade marmalade. Location was very convenient, as it was pretty close to the town and to some of the most beautiful villages in the area. We will come back again!

We spend 3 days in this hotel, 30/12/2013 – 2/1/2014, I can say this hotel deserves 4 stars and not 5. We was two adult and one child, we stay in a junior suite, large and comfortable. All pillows was terrible, as sleeping in balloon, awful quality. Large bathroom with bathrobes, heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam bath (hammam). Good place in mountain, nice green area, perfect view from restaurant. Not away from the village of Karpenisi. No guard in swimming pool, balcony and stairs to indoor parking area not clean. Advantage for winter covered parking but not place for all cars. Good heating in room. Unfortunately no snow around on this period. Breakfast was typical, coffee not very tasty. The village of Karpenissi is nice, clean, with coffee shops, with reastaurants and Greek tavern. Parking available.

As a family of four (with my two daugthers), we like skiing (though are not great skiers...) , so for the long weekend of March 18th, 2013, we decided to head for Karpenissi. It has been over 15 years I had visited the area, so I looked for some price bargains to stay. Got a good offer at 220EUR for two nights, three days, half-board ah the Avaris Hotel. The normal price would have been 450EUR !!
Arrived there on Saturday morning, since we had the eraly check-in option. It is not very easy to find, there are no hotel signs on the road, and the one sign there is, you can only see it once exactly at the spot where you have to turn right onto the mountain, hence not really helpful ! The room was not heated when we arrived and not very large for a family of 4: the couple's bed was king size (!) but the children had to sleep on a couch-turned-in-bed, so there was much space left in the room. The heat problem was later resolved but the method used to heat rooms (via A/C) is not the most healthy. The hotel's common areas are fine, though the architecture and the organization of the whole building is rather peculiar. For example, the piano bar is under the reception, with a patio-like opening just in front of the concierge desk. Since the hotel is built on a slope, your 2nd floor room is actually two floors DOWN from the entrance... There is covered parking space, a spa (we did not visit) and a playroom for kids (of the "noisy" kind, so one cannot play a nice game of billiards, nor of table tennis, with a dozen little people running around... ). Anyway, we headed for the slopes and had a great time.
What was much below standards was the quality and variety of food, both at breakfast and at dinner time. Not much to choose from at dinner (roast chicken with potatoes, white rice, pasta with minced meat and salad - no fruit, no cheese, no appetizers)and very stale breakfast (butter and jam, fried eggs and sausage, french coffee and tea, juice form concentrate). What is worse, there was no dish of the local traditional cuisine nor any ingredient from local producers!! The area is famous for honey, yogurt, cheese, sausage, lamb, herb pies; none of these were ever offered ! Instead, the hotel uses a discount super market as its exclusive supplier, so you end up having german UHT milk and little portions of jelly jam (rally bad) from northern Greece.
So, if it was not for the 60% discount offer, I would have rated it as "poor". It is not worth the money, nor is the location or room area or facilities offered that good to ask for over 200 EUr per night ! I must admit, however, that service was smiling and friendly.
