The Maria Stella is family-run, so we felt very welcome during our stay. The hotel owner, Mr George, and his staff/family were friendly and greeted us each day with a wave and a smile. The garden is immaculate, with lots of colourful flowers and plants - very nice change to look out onto rather than the usual sun loungers or...

Situated about 40 metres from the main square this place is amazingly quiet. The central garden is a nice peacefull touch also. Accommodation is basic but has everything you need. Only minor gripe is the shower wouldn't attach to the wall properly. Be aware aircon costs extra (7 euros per room per day). Staff are v friendly and the baker...

So close to everything that is going on in Elounda, beaches, restaurants, boat trips and shops and yet one step back and you have this perfect peaceful haven. Mr...

This is our second stay in Elounda but our first in Maria Stella. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and Mr George had stayed up to greet us, show us to our rooms and sort out the air conditioning for us. A bottle of wine awaited our arrival. We have just returned from a two week stay at Maria Stella in Elounda. We were greeted by Mr. George, the owner, who recognised us from a previous visit in 2012. There was a bottle of wine awaiting us (and all other guests as far as I know) on the table in the apartment. The setting is really beautiful with...
