We loved the combination of a welcoming traditional pub with log fires etc downstairs and boutique styled bedrooms upstairs. We had a lovely warm welcome, as did our two dogs, and we knew we had made a lucky find. And then we even had a fabulous dinner, some of the best monkfish I have had for ages! Add to that...

We had a meal here as we happened to be staying elsewhere in the village of Sandford. The food was excellent. Shame about the sweary barmaid, though. If she must eff and blind she should do it under her breath, not so that the whole pub can hear. Would've given five stars otherwise.

Stayed here over Christmas to visit family in Crediton. Food amazing, garden suite great. Mark, the owner, very hospitable in fact all staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend staying here to anyone. Thank you for a lovely long weekend

I agree with previous reviewers who noted that this is a "classic" Devon pub (beams, lively, warm, welcoming, local) with a really imaginative and enjoyable menu. In fact, such classic Devon pubs of this calibre are few and far between nowadays. I would be happy to spend time with a drink here any time. However, my visit was for a...

This is a typical Devon pub, heavy beams, quirky shapes and inglenook fireplaces, etc. We were late arriving, but nobody was concerned and welcomed us. Excellent staff, young but very polite, well-spoken and a pleasure to talk with. No "fank you", or "hi guys", which itself is a bonus, but a really warm attitude. The food is really, really good....

Parking wasn't easy, but apart from that we enjoyed dinner at The Lamb. A relaxed atmosphere in an attractive historic building. Busy without being noisy. Pleasant and efficient service. Excellent food at good prices. We like the local cider.

We spent one night staying at the Lamb Inn, our expectations were high having read it had won many awards. Unfortunately it didn't live up to those expectations. The room was a little shabby and the furniture looked like it had been bought at a jumble sale. However the pub itself was lovely with a vibrant atmosphere in the evening....

A return visit after mixed experiences was rewarded with some beautiful food that was well presented and tasted great. The Lamb is a quintessentially English country pub, with soft lighting, sofas, real fires and a thriving social atmosphere. The only downside is that parking in the congested village can be a challenge. We will be back!

We popped in for lunch when the pub was very busy, but still had good service. Simple food but very nicely done and inexpensive, friendly landlord and staff, tasty local ciders and beer, delightful ambiance.
