The Modernist is going to get five stars from me. The ladies in reception are the friendliest and most helpful of any hotel I have ever been to. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast utterly divine. The breakfast bar is arranged behind Perspex, with due attention to Covid preventing hygiene and looks just like the best deli you ever saw. Seeded bagels dangling on little hooks. Fresh orange juice…
To start with , a very warm welcome upon arrival. Staff at the reception goes way beyond with information with a smile. Hotel takes its design and style seriousley and it's noted in small details from the 1920's original floor tiles to the room design and up to 7th floor terrace breakfast lounge. breakfast is as you'd expect from a boutique hotel - excellent. Bed, pillows, blankets all make you feel at home. Location> could not be better. Thank you for an excellent and memorable stay, hope to see you again soon.
one absolute modern design hotel in a building of 1920.Everything well made with a touch of luxus. Very best center of town near public transport.Rooms and beds very comfortable.Breakfast with local goods of highest quality. The personal outstanding. I will stay again
From the second I wearily walked into the reception area and was greeted by the lovely Agapi with a huge smile, friendly attitude and a gamut of useful information - I knew I'd picked the right hotel! The first thing to say about the place is that it's in an absolutely perfect location for all the things you might want in Thessaloniki... literally everything apart from the Old Town is pretty much within 10 minutes walk, including Ladadika (the nightlife area), Arch of Galerius, Aristotle Square, the seafront, Roman Forum, and a whole plethora of churches. Better still, for those going to/from the airport by bus (1X) then the hotel is just 5 mins easy walk from the relevant stops - very handy! Nearby to the hotel is all manner of banks/ATMS, supermarkets, restaurants, snack bars and bars... so no worries there either. The rooms are very chic and modern, immaculately clean and the aircon is super quiet (and efficient). There's no pool or real area for sunbathing, but the charming roof terrace on the top floor is where the lovely fresh and plentiful breakfast is served each morning by the super friendly staff. And that takes me back to the staff - alongside the location then it is the friendly and personal nature of the staff that really stand out at this place. Throughout my stay they would always address me by my name (a nice personal touch!) and would spend time chatting about how my day had been, as well making suggestions (and reservations) for the best local restaurants/bars... even resulting in a fun little competition to see how their "best" local seafood restaurant compared to "my" best one from earlier in the trip! It's not the cheapest hotel in the city, but it's definitely still reasonably priced - and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.... highly recommended. ps :- Thanks to all of the staff (especially Agapi & Stella) and keep up the good work!!…
I highly recommend this hotel. It is very clean and central. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. Special thanks to Agapi for all the advice given and recommendations for day trips and places of interest in the city. She is very good at planning day trips. Plus she has got a very warm and welcoming personality. Thank you again for everything, I wll be back.
