I visited Hydra for only two nights in June 2015 as a last-minute add-on to a trip to Mykonos and Santorini. I wish I had spent far more time on Hydra. One of the highlights of the visit was coming "home" to the Greco Hotel those two nights after hiking in the hills, relaxing on one of the beaches, and...

Room was immaculate, very simple but great for our needs. The beds are on the hard side, but I prefer this. There was a TV for watching Greek cartoons. The owners are friendly. The breakfast in the patio garden was superb. There were many varieties of homemade baked goods, eggs and fruits. The location was just far enough from the bustling harbor...

Hydra was our first on our Greek Island hopping holiday and Hotel Greco was a wonderful way to acquaint us with the pace and simplicity of local life. We arrived after a choppy transfer from Athens at 9pm and were warmly welcomed. The hotel feels like you're in someone's home and you could tell that the guests treated the house...

We received a very warm welcome from Yannis on arrival and later shown to our triple room number 14 on the 1st floor. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with a discreet entrance passing through trees and plants. The excellent breakfast provided by Maria was always enjoyable, seated outside in the garden being entertained by the crickets and...

The owner and her son try very hard to accommodate guests. They are friendly and helpful, often inquiring about guest's needs. The included breakfast is average, not special and the hallway can be noisy at night. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the hotel is easily accessible on foot with luggage.

Loved our first stay at the Greco Hotel. We were met at the port by a porter which was a welcome surprise. The walk to the hotel was quick and easy. The rooms are basic in typical Greek style, but they are comfortable and have everything you may need. Maria and her sons go out of their way to make...

The Greco Hotel is perfect in every way. It's a lovely hotel in a quiet location just a short walk from the port, restaurants, and shops. Each morning the breakfast is a delicious variety of savory and sweet choices made fresh each day and enjoyed in the hotel's beautiful garden. The family that owns the Greco is warm and welcoming...

Maria and her son's were hospitality itself, not that I had to ask for much because mostly everything was provided. The hotel has a beautiful garden where you can have an excellent breakfast of different kinds of eggs, with meat and cheese and home baked bread and cakes and pastries. The rooms and bathroom were a little old fashioned, but...

I think what summarises our disappointment was that the reviews for this hotel were outstanding, building up high expectations on where you are heading.. and the reality differed quite a bit! On the positive side, the service and hospitality of the place are very high. Both the breakfast-lady and the receptionist were extremely polite, always accommodating and happy to help....

Very nice hotel, great hospitality. Especially Ioannis makes you feel very welcome. Its location is excellent: in a quiet part of town, at walking distance from the port. We will be back to enjoy the peaceful terrace.
