This hotel was booked by our tour operator on a marathon trip. The first room we got smelled of smoke. The staff told us they would upgrade us to a suite, well the suite meant th room had a tiny hallway but it was smaller than the first room! Anyway, we kept that room but everything was so drab: sad...

Where to start? Well, the hotel is indeed very close to Central Station but you have to leave the station correctly to make the most of that feature (i.e. do not come out the Tiovoli Gardens exit). If you emerge from the rear and walk alongside the Astoria Hotel and then turn immediately left you are at the Grand in...

This hotel is very close to the train station and Tivoli gardens which was nice. Other than that, thats about it. Kind of a dump. My first impression was seeing trash in the hallways where the maids were cleaning. The room was bigger than most of the rooms we encountered in Scandinavia, but it was kinda grimy. Bed was super...

The Grand Hotel in Copenhagen is convenient to the city centre and all services. The room was small but sufficed for our two night stay. Offer an upgrade but at a price. Free wifi in the room was a bonus. Good restaurants close to the hotel.

The location is very convenient, Hotel is placed walking distance from city center. Just across the street from Train Station, next to Tivoli Gardens (which are beautifull), few minutes walking to city center, lots of restaurants around, but Hotel itself was definitley dissapointing. Even though our room got "upgraded", it still was small, bathroom was clean but also quite small....

Dear German traveller I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed our great location here in Copenhagen. Also it is always nice to hear when guests enjoy our beautiful city. It is true that some of our rooms are quite small, as a lot of other hotel rooms here in Scandinavia. We at the Grand Hotel would be very...

Hotel was booked on "hotwire" which has been a positive experience for us. This hotel was decent - not really a 4 star but 3.5 hotel. Wonderful helpful people at the check-in desk. Room was more of the old world style which was fine for us and it was a very good size for European standards. Bed and pillows were...

This hotel OK for the price, I found it not so bad as the rap from other posts here, true its is old in a non-charming way... but my room was clean and yes the bathroom is not the place to through a party, but if you stay in mid-price hotels in the Nordic area they are all a bit...

Dear Djcfred I am pleased to hear that you found our hotel okay for our prices. It is true that some of our rooms are small, which as you mention, is pretty normal for hotel rooms in Scandinavia. I am very happy to hear that you liked the cleanliness of our rooms. Our housekeeping staff works very hard to keep...

Simple hotel at reasonable price, especially for the location. But there are better possibilities in Copenhagen when you book early. The room on the 4th floor was very small and had an even smaller bathroom. Asked for a quiet room so I could leave the window open since they do not have airco and the gave me a quite one,...

First of all, the location is perfect! Close to Tivoli, Centralstation and the famous shoppingsreet Stroget. BUT the hotel itself is old in a non-charming way... Actually, it's a bit dirty and the cleaning is not well done. The breakfast is alright, everything you need is there but not top notch for a "luxury" hotel... One good thing, the service...

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
