This hotel is in a really good spot. My room was right at the end so literally metres from the royal palace!! Good for Nyhavn and the touristy areas and it's just a short walk over the bridge to Copenhagen Street Food and Christiania. Personally I would stay in Vesterbro in future but great location for a first time in...

My wife and I decided to enjoy a short city break to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Copenhagen won the competition and we stayed at the Admiral after reading some good reviews. We arrived around 4pm and, as we registered, we were warned by Mads and Livbov that it was 'Dinner week' so restaurants were vert busy. However, there were still...

I visited the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel on the 10th January 2017 for 1 night. On the 11th January 2017 in the morning, I left my bag in their care and while I went for a walk until mid afternoon all my cash was stolen from my wallet (£120 and €250) by a member of their staff (the baggage room is...

We stayed at The Admiral and we were delighted with the lovely warmth and difference of the hotel. Location was fab and easy to get around the city whether by foot, BIS, boat or train. Quick, clean and efficient transport. Breakfast had a great vibe and a wide selection. Room lovely and we were given an upgrade that overlook the...

Excellent location near the palace and a short walk from Nyhavn and the mermaid statue. This hotel is in a very attractive building with lots of original features. The room was clean and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel's restaurant was fully booked on a Sunday night - so book ahead to avoid disappointment.

We stayed for two nights, when we arrived to check in we were upgraded to a larger sea view room which was great! I realised once we got to our room and saw that we had two single beds pushed together instead of a double that my booking did say we would get EITHER a double or twins so that...

Short stay in Copenhagen for 2, we found a 3 nighter plus flights for £560. Hotel of this type you are probably looking at £160 ish per night. That said, breakfast (150Dkk) is on top. The breakfast was continental, but very extensive and well worth that cost I thought. Coffee was excellent. A converted quayside warehouse the hotel retains much...

Everything about this hotel is positive. Warmth radiates. Fantastic location for exploring. With the opera house opposite and royal suites two minute walk. Away from the hustle of the main city. Comfy rooms. Very well kept too. Can even hire bikes from here. Very quiet.

Stayed here Monday-Thursday. Was a lovely, clean hotel. Breakfast wasn't included in our room and for 150krone it was quite expensive...but was still nice. The bar area is really warm and homely. Staff very friendly. We went with our 1 year old little boy and he was loving all the space in our room. The only thing not giving it...

Fab hotel, excellent location and great staff. SALT their restaurant was amazing. Would go back, just wasn't so pleased with the room as it was two singles with two single quilts pushed together, which for a room booked as a double was a bit odd and the room was a bit dusty. Would be more picky on arrival into room...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
