This hotel is large, but still friendly and pleasant. The rooms have good space, bathroom well equipped, and beds are comfortable. View is great overlooking harbor and opera. It is nice and quite and no problem to have the window open at night

Super location in the heart of Copenhagen in a coverted grain mill - lots of wooden beams everywhere gives the location great character and an old world feel. I was upgraded to a harbour view and the view was great. The room however for DKK 1325 per night was very small with twin beds and this was a disappointment. Breakfast...

Located a short walk from Nyhaven, the Admiral Hotel has a great central location and looks striking along the waterfront. It's also gorgeous on the inside... with the rooms themselves decorated with wooden beams across the ceiling. The bathroom was spacious, a huge mirror spanned a whole wall and the bed was comfortable. The staff were also very helpful in...

Loved this hotel. It has a lot of character as it was an old grain mill. Lots of huge wood beams. The rooms are lovely, but a bit small. If you are booking a double, book for the largest size, but otherwise, very comfortable and clean. Hotel staff very accommodating. The location is perfect - just a short street and...

Location- it has amongst the best. Overlooking the harbour. The building looks majestic. The lobby is well turned out with all the right accoutrements befitting a navy. The staff are friendly. Tobias in particular stood out, gave a great recommendation for dinner Alas, the rooms are a huge letdown. Large they may be, but they have feel and smell of...

I am in hotels worldwide for about 150 nights per year. My main expectation regarding a good hotel is to have a relaxing sleep and a certain level of comfort. My room at Admiral hotel was the worst I got since years: • Very small room with one single bed only. Very small wardrobe with too little space. • Smallest...

A lovely hotel in the heart of Copenhagen, on the banks of the canal. The rooms are decorated in medieval style, very clean, new plumbing. Breakfasts are delicious, the choice is very large. Of the minuses - did not work machine parking payment (but it's not the fault of the hotel)

The hotel room was small; the shower was feeble; the noise outside of bottle collection at 2:am meant no sleep and the fact that we were never asked about our stay by the receptionist guaranteed a bad review. The location is very good, but that is it. The space between the bed and wall only allowed crablike walking resulting on...

Short stay for business trip to CPH. Located central in the city, and within walking distance of Nyhavn and lots of restaurants and bars. The hotel is an old converted warehouse, and is nicely done and quite cosy inside. Rooms are nice and well equipped, although the lower floors above the bar suffer from noise at night. Breakfast is good,...

The hotel is directly on the harbor and looks like an 1700's warehouse or manor (big imposing and unbreachable facade) from the outside to give you that sense of history - but is completely updated and pleasant inside. With the addition of the cannons at the entrance and in the breakfast room, you wonder if it was part of a...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
