We arrived late but the check in staff were very friendly and had made a note of my special requests. Our friends had arranged a surprise for us when we arrived which the reception team were in on and were very keen to help make it happen. The bar area was vibrant but not loud, prices were ok for a...

Hotel Admiral is built in a huge ex-storage building close to Nyhaven waterfront. It is not very close to the shopping district, but the culinary and leisure services of Nyhaven are just one block to the south. The hotel is big but the rooms still maintain their rustic character, with nice historical reminders of the building's past. Royal castle and...

Booked this hotel based on their website as it looked like a good hotel to stay at and would be a unique experience. A very pricey hotel too so I thought the service would be amazing. However, during the 5 night stay the hotel had a hot wAter issue, which resulted in No hot water for one whole day making...

I spent a weekend at the hotel recently and had a great stay. The hotel has a unique feel which is refreshing after staying at business hotels all the time for work. All the staff were friendly and eager to help out. The room was a little bit dated but the hotel has a lot of character and is in...

We had 4night stay at Copenhagen Admiral Hotel. At the very beginning we received a free upgrade from standard to deluxe room. The room was spacious with very nice view to the Opera house and beautifully wooden furnished. The breakfast was very rich and was served in suitable time. The restaurant offers delicious dishes for dinner and a good variety...

Unlike other hotels this one has a taste of its own. For me I like it very much. Perfect view, place, room space. If you don't know this hotel is 200 years old but before it was a hotel it was actually a warehouse for grains and salt as it is on the harbour. If you like to be in...

Great hotel stayed here with my wife before in the winter so this time we were pleased to see the outside bar was open which was very pleasant to sit in the sun overlooking the harbour having a drink. The hotel is very easy to find we drove from Sweden and had no problems finding it. Rooms are spacious and...

This hotel is simply perfect. I stayed there several times and was everz time happy. The location is near the sea, close to Nyhavn a very nice and pulsing place for Danes and also tourists, but awaz from the big crowds. I enjoyed especially their breakfast, all very fresh and ecological, home made bread etc. As it was not me,...

Great hotel with lot of atmosphere. It is an old warehouse, which you still feeling. Rooms are great size, however the bathroom might be a little our dated. I know, that the 70th are modern again. However it works! Service and food there are amazing and will absolute recommend this hotel to others. Btw. I have already book my second...

I've stayed here a few times over the last few years on business and I love the location and the exterior and lobby but the rooms are quite dated now. The walls are paper thin and noise from the street is constant. The bathrooms are circa 1980s with ugly brown tiles, tin bath and unpleasant odours from the plumbing. For...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
